Poznan’s One and Only Wood-Fired Kebab

The Lowdown

Alright, so here’s the scoop. The team at Poznan Daily was on the hunt for something different, something that hit harder than your average street food—and boom, we stumbled across this little gem. Tucked away in Podolany, right outside the Podolany Shopping Center, there’s a food truck like no other: Miesna Buly, serving up the only wood-fired kebab in the city. Yup, you read that right—wood-fired! Naturally, we had to get down there to see what’s up.

We rolled through Podolany, our stomachs rumbling, and couldn’t help but wonder, does a kebab really taste better when it’s kissed by flames? The vibe was already different from your typical kebab spot. The flames roaring, that smoky smell in the air—this wasn’t just another food truck parked up. We had to know more.

The Owners

We caught up with the owners, Weronika and Piotr, to get the lowdown. Turns out, this whole wood-fired kebab thing started by pure coincidence. Piotr and his fam were on vacation in Turkey, just chillin’, when they parked next to this tiny wood-fired kebab joint. The flame, the smell, the flavor—it pulled them in every single day of their stay. They got tight with the owner, and Piotr even learned how to chop meat like a boss, wielding a machete.

The Dream

Back in Poland, still buzzed from that Turkish flavor, they knew they had to bring the heat to Poznan. Running BurgsChef since 2015, they had a solid customer base, so when they announced their new fire-fueled kebab spot on social media, people were hyped. But here’s the catch: getting that wood-fired machine? Not easy. No one’s making those things in Poland, so they had to hustle hard to make it happen.

The Chow

As if the pressure wasn’t enough, a big-name kebab chain was about to roll into the same parking lot. So, Piotr and the crew had to speed up their launch—like, seriously fast. The entire menu for Miesna Buly? Created in one night. And, man, did they come up with some bangers! Take the “Turk from Mexico,” for example—a kebab stacked with nachos and guacamole, inspired by their famous GuacoNacho burger from BurgsChef. And then there’s the “Egg Baconez”—a kebab with egg and bacon, a fire twist on their burger menu.

The Game Changer

Opening in February wasn’t easy—it was cold, real cold—but that fire and the smell? It was magnetic. People couldn’t resist. The real game-changer? The visit from MrKryha, a well-known YouTuber and TikToker. After he posted his video, Miesna Buly blew up. People started coming from all over Poland just to get a taste of that wood-fired magic.

The Now

Now? Piotr and his crew are crushing it. They run their own social media, filming TikToks, keeping the hype alive, and bringing in customers from all corners of the country. The wood-fired kebab has officially made its mark, and Miesna Buly is the spot to hit if you want to taste something different, something real. If you haven’t been yet, get yourself to Podolany on Strzeszyńska 61 and see what all the fuss is about—we will be back real soon to try it ourselves and give you our opinion! Get in quick and grab their Autumn special before it’s gone—juicy beef, tangy yogurt and herb sauce, pickled pumpkin, creamy goat cheese, fresh cucumber and red onion, crisp mixed greens, and roasted pumpkin seeds for that perfect crunch!
