Meet THE BEAST!

The Lowdown

Alright, so you know how Poles love naming their spots after animals, right? Swistak—yep, it means “Marmot” in English—is bringing some serious kebab game to Wielka Street in Poznan’s Old Town. This place isn’t just riding on a catchy animal name; it’s backed up with some serious bite. Owned by Bartek and his wife, Swistak is five years in the making in Poznan, though it’s got a little posse of locations also sprinkled around Wielkopolska.

The Premium

They are not playing around with the meat, either. At Swistak, you’re getting your classic kebab fix, but there’s also premium craft meat—made in-house with whole cuts, not that minced stuff. Yeah, it’s an extra 7 PLN for any kebab you choose, but we had to see if it was worth the hype. So, naturally, we went all in, sampling the goods in three classic styles: pita, tortilla, and plate. And let me tell you, the crisp game was on point for all three. Getting that right isn’t as easy as it sounds.

The Beast

First up was the 750 g Kebab XL, or as we’re calling it, The Beast. Spilling out of a thick pita style bread, this monster clocks in at only 35 PLN with the regular meat but goes to 42 PLN for the premium. Let’s just say the extra dough is worth it—OMG, the craft meat has that real-deal, whole-cut consistency.

Juicy, just the right amount of bite, with a rich flavor that’s on another level. And those signature sauces? Garlic and mayo cayenne—hands down, the best we’ve had in Poznan, not too heavy, just right. And this thing? Massive. I’m not sure if they made ours extra big knowing we were with Poznan Daily, but let’s just say it was borderline unfinishable. This Beast is the kind of kebab you remember.

The Best Deal

Next up, we took on the Large Beef Tortilla Kebab. The flavor? Incredible. I’m talking juicy, tender beef that soaks up the spices without losing that beefy kick. —35 PLN for the premium and 28 PLN for the regular. Either way, it’s a steal.

The Classy

We wrapped it up with the Kebab on a plate, complete with crispy fries and a fresh salad. The plate’s got a more civilized vibe if you’re with your girl, but don’t be fooled—it’s no lightweight at 42 PLN for premium meat (35 PLN regular). And the curry sauce we asked for? Sweet with a kick of spice. The Plate Kebab is classy, a total power move if you’re keeping it casual but don’t want to look like a caveman.

So here’s the deal

Look, this isn’t your average kebab. Swistak takes it to another level with this premium option, no doubt putting them in our Top 3 for Poznan. And trust me, coming from a Londoner who knows kebabs, this place is legit.

Wrapping up

So here’s the deal: if you haven’t met The Beast at Swistak, you’re not truly living the Poznan kebab life. This isn’t just a snack—it’s an event, a celebration. For any self-respecting kebab lover, The Beast is the one you need to try at least once. Actually, scratch that—make it the first, the last, and the repeat order. Swistak nailed it. The Beast is waiting for you. Don’t miss out.
