Ukrainian Man Deported after Driving With His fog Lights On! Agree Or Not?

Sometimes, a simple traffic stop turns into something straight out of a Netflix crime drama. Last week in Poznan, police pulled over a 42-year-old Ukrainian driver, all because he was cruising with his fog lights on… despite there being no fog, no rain, and not even a cloud in sight.

What seemed like a quick “turn those lights off, sir” situation took a hard left when officers checked his ID. Turns out, the man had two active driving bans.

Junior Asst. Anna Klój from the Poznań police said the man was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. The case? Processed expedited. No long court saga here.

And the verdict came fast, eight months in prison, an eight-year driving ban, and a PLN 5,000 fine to the Victims’ Assistance and Post-Penitentiary Assistance Fund. Oh, and court costs, too.

But that wasn’t the end of the story. The Poznań City Police Commander submitted a request to the Border Guard, and soon after, a deportation order landed on the man’s file. He’s now banned from entering Poland or any other Schengen country for five years.

So, let’s recap:

Fog lights, driving bans, prison, deportation.

Harsh? Or fair play for someone who kept ignoring the law? What do you think… too much, or totally justified?
