TOP 10 beaches in and around Poznan for 2024. Which one made the #1 spot?

As the temperature rises and summer approaches, many of us are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to cool off by the water and have some fun. To help you plan your summer adventures, we’ve curated a list of the top beaches in and around Poznan for 2024. Each of these destinations offers its own unique charm and recreational opportunities, ensuring a memorable experience for beach enthusiasts. Without further ado, let’s dive into our carefully selected picks, culminating in our highly esteemed #1 recommendation for 2024.

10. Pamiątkowo

The lake near Rokietnica, in the village of Pamiątkowo, offers a summer retreat surrounded by forest, on a sandy beach. In recent years, the beach in Pamiątkowo has been equipped with a pier, a water bike rental, as well as toilets and changing rooms. However, the downside of this beach remains the somewhat uncomfortable access, especially for beachgoers with cars, which is via an unpaved forest road.

Place 9. Zborowo (Dopiewo commune)

The beach in Zborowo by Lake Niepruszewskie offers more than just a bathing area; it also features a new sailing marina, a pier, volleyball courts, a playground, and educational nature boards. The beach by Lake Niepruszewskie is largely grassy, making it less attractive than other nearby beaches near Poznań with sandy shores. Importantly, there is ample parking right next to the beach in Zborowo.

Access to the parking lot, however, is only partially paved. Nonetheless, during the summer season, especially on weekends, the beach in Zborowo is crowded. Where can you stay near the beach by Lake Niepruszewskie? There are plenty of new residential options in the immediate vicinity. The most interesting and well-developed residential estates are located in neighboring Dąbrówka and Dopiewiec as part of the Dąbrówka – Leśna Polana Estate – check out the current construction projects here!

Place 8. Owińska (Czerwonak commune)

Tropicana Lake in Owińska is an artificial reservoir, and although wild landscapes are scarce here, there are plenty of attractions for the whole family. One of them is the water skiing and wakeboarding lift. The “decor” of the beach in Owińska is also unique – palm trees, reed umbrellas, and… giraffes. The lake boasts numerous amenities such as a guarded sandy beach, water sports equipment rental, playground, changing rooms, showers, and a volleyball court. You can also enjoy fast food at the bar. However, admission to the beach is charged.

7. Mosina, Przystanek Glinianki

Glinianki in Mosina is another successful example of transforming former quarries into a tourist attraction. The area, formerly belonging to ceramic factories, has been completely revitalized, and the result is truly impressive! Glinianki is not only a great place for a lakeside walk in the green area near Poznań. Tourists can enjoy a high observation tower, a guarded bathing area with a sandy beach, changing rooms, well-kept walking paths, and bivouac shelters. Information boards around the beach inform visitors about the values of the Wielkopolski National Park. Currently, Glinianki Stop is a well-equipped, large sandy beach with warm water and additional attractions.

6. Kiekrz Beach

Kiekrz Beach near Poznań may not be large, but alongside beaches in Strzeszynko, Krzyżowniki, and by Rusałka Lake, it has gained new amenities as part of the Plażojada project. Currently, you can enjoy a playground styled as a ship, benches, an outdoor gym, pedestrian-cycling paths, and a new toilet. There is also a small gastronomy and a pier. For many beachgoers, the partial shading of the beach, easy access, and parking are advantageous. Recently, in Kiekrz by the lake, a covered relaxation area was created, as well as a new atmospheric beach bar – Natura Bar. Kudos to this initiative!

5. Kórnik

The new promenade by Lake Kórnickie is a popular destination for family walks, not only for locals. Adjacent to the famous Kórnicki Arboretum, the route is excellently prepared – made of cobblestones, it is wide, with separate lanes for pedestrians and cyclists, piers, a marina, and lighting. During the walk, you can admire the lake from a two-level viewing platform or sit on a bench or in one of the local cafes. From April 23 to September 17, excursion boats operate on Lake Kórnickie. For beach enthusiasts, Kórnik offers a guarded beach at the Oaza Błonie Sports and Recreation Center, where you can use water sports equipment rental, a playground, or sports fields.

4. Chyby

The beach right near Poznań, specifically by Lake Kierskie in Chyby, is a good choice for those who like intimate and less crowded places. During the summer, the beach is mainly used by residents of nearby single-family houses, so there is no inconvenience of crowding and noise here. What sets it apart is the partial shading of the new beach in Chyby, thanks to tall trees. The place also encourages swimming. There are benches, peace, and quiet, along with beautiful views. Recently, the Tarnowo Podgórne commune implemented a new project on the beach in Chyby – the construction of a splendid pier, officially opened on May 20, 2016.

3. Strzeszynko Beach

The largest urban beach in Poznań is located by Lake Strzeszyńskie. An expanded playground – several zones with new equipment for both younger and older children (including a large ropes course, mini trampolines, zip line), an impressive and well-functioning outdoor gym, and of course – renovated pier and promenade and paths for pedestrians and cyclists – are the main advantages of the bathing area by Lake Strzeszyńskie, which underwent a thorough transformation last year as part of the Plażojada Project. Importantly, in Strzeszynko, there are not only a sandy beach and well-equipped recreational facilities for many beachgoers. There are also gastronomy points and a cafe. From Strzeszynko, you can embark on a cycling trip to another lake near Poznań, Lake Kierskie. It’s worth noting that during the season, the cycling route connecting both lakes is quite heavily used.

2. Lusowo

The beach in Lusowo is one of the best-prepared beaches in the whole of Wielkopolska. For beachgoers, in addition to a large sandy beach by Lake Lusowskie, there is a complex of sports fields, water sports equipment rental, a new pier, a playground, a place for grilling, benches, toilets, and a gastronomy point (two other restaurants – Stara Wozownia and Val di Sole as well as a pizzeria are available in Lusowo, a few minutes’ walk from the beach).

Directly from the beach in Lusowo, you can go on a cycling trip around Lake Lusowskie, where a picturesque and well-marked trail leads. During the season, the beach in Lusowo is guarded. There is a large parking lot right by the beach. Access to the beach in Lusowo is convenient and fully paved. The beach in Lusowo is a well-prepared place for family relaxation surrounded by nature. Basically, the only downside to this place is the fairly high concentration of beachgoers during holiday weekends.

1. Powidz – Our best beach close to Poznan for 2024

Sand like in the sea and exceptionally clear water. This is what makes leisure by the largest lake in Wielkopolska an experience you will fondly remember for a long time. Looks like a beach you would find abroad, right? Especially since, thanks to thriving charter companies and rentals, as well as a large area exceeding 1000 ha of the reservoir, you can fully enjoy the charms of sailing, kayaking, diving, or stand-up paddleboarding here. The good impression is enhanced by the fact that in 2013, a promenade for pedestrians and cyclists was built along Lake Powidzkie, which is still being expanded.

On-site, you can also use a well-developed gastronomic base – I especially recommend the Jabłona Restaurant with a terrace overlooking the intimate beach. Along the waterfront, you can enjoy your time on one of several public beaches, which – especially during hot weather – are partly shaded. The main beach, most often chosen by tourists, is guarded. There are well-prepared parking lots near most bathing areas. Our favorite beach close to Poznan for 2024 and worth the 85 km drive!
