Street Flavour Alert: Poznań’s National Festival of Good Taste Cranks Up at Plac Wolności (14–17 Aug)

Yo Poznan!

Poznań crew — sharpen your forks and clear your calendars. From 14 to 17 August 2025, Plac Wolności is turning into a full-scale foodie playground. Just 100 meters from Stary Rynek, the 19th National Festival of Good Taste is coming in hot — bigger location, bigger line-up, and yes… entry is still completely free.

From Quiet Beginnings to Culinary Takeover

Back in 2007, the festival kicked off with nothing but an Old Market Square table, a few brave food producers, and a liqueur competition called Polish Nalewka of the Year. The Good Taste Fair and stage shows were supposed to be side dishes. Fast-forward nearly two decades: now we’re talking 100+ exhibitors, cooking shows that pull crowds, live beats, and enough regional snacks to keep you munching until September.

The vision came from restaurateur Jan Babczyszyn, was built by producer Wojciech Lewandowski, and carried the culinary magic of the late Piotr Bikont who died in a tragic car crash. Since 2015, the National Festival of Good Taste Foundation has been running the show, blending culinary heritage with a strong pinch of culture.

What’s Cooking This Year?

Aside from the liqueur showdown, expect:

  • A Good Taste Fair stacked with Polish classics, street food from around the globe, cheeses, smoked meats, wine, beer, sweets — basically, an edible passport.
  • Culinary shows with top chefs and hands-on workshops so you can actually learn to whip up the good stuff.
  • Live music zones and a “Find the Magician” roaming illusionist to keep you entertained between bites.

Why You Can’t Miss It

This is four days of pure Poznań flavor — the kind of event where you bump into your neighbour over a plate of pierogi, then end up in a liqueur tasting next to a stranger you’ll now call a friend. Poznań Daily will be right there, hunting down the best bites and reporting back with the ultimate “must-try” list.

So come hungry. Leave happy. And maybe, just maybe, a little tipsy from that nalewka table.
