Alright Poznań, we’re wrapping up our hunt for the city’s top swim instructors—and what a ride it’s been. We’ve already introduced you to two absolute queens of the pool, and now it’s time to balance the scales. You know, equal strokes for all folks.

So we went digging for a standout guy to complete our trio—and guess what we found? A man who teaches you how to glide through water like a dolphin and pulls up to work in an American muscle car or Harley. Yup, we had to investigate.

The Swimdoktor

Enter: Rafał Henryk Witczak. (Yes, that’s his real name. Sounds like a Marvel character and a Bond villain. We’re already sold.) But around Atlantis Swimming Pool in Osiedle Batorego—his HQ since 2006—people just call him “The Swimdoktor.” And honestly, it fits.

Rafał is no part-timer doing laps between college classes. This guy has clocked nearly 50,000 lessons. That’s not a flex—it’s a full-blown swimming dynasty. He’s been coaching everyone from shy toddlers and terrified adults to competitive club swimmers and medal-chasing triathletes. You name it, he’s coached it. He’s even got the paperwork to back it all up: PZP trainer license, WOPR rescue cert, and coaching chops dating back to 2005. The man’s a machine.

The Globetrotter

But don’t let the credentials fool you into thinking he’s all work and no play. The Swimdoktor is also a globetrotting, guitar-blasting, pasta-cooking adrenaline junkie. When he’s not in the pool, he’s skiing down slopes, rallying through Europe, or riding his motorcycle into the sunset. Basically, he’s the kind of guy who makes you question whether you’ve been doing adulthood wrong.

The Training ground

Now let’s talk shop. Rafał’s lessons happen mostly at Atlantis Swimming Pool, which, by the way, is stacked: two pools (one sport, one recreational), hot jets, a jacuzzi, a 60-meter slide, saunas, and even a kiddie splash zone with slides. Plus, parking for 50+ cars. It’s giving resort vibes with chlorine.

The Classes

He offers individual swimming lessons for every age and skill level. From water-familiarization for total beginners to sport-specific technique breakdowns using video analysis, his classes are tailored like a bespoke suit. That one-on-one approach lets him quickly build trust—especially helpful if you’re scared of the deep end or just embarrassed by your doggy paddle.

Here’s the lowdown on prices (all for 45-minute sessions):

1-on-1 kids or adults: 150 PLN

2-on-1 kids or adults: 200 PLN

Sport training: same price.

Technique analysis with video: also 200 PLN.

And here’s the twist: Rafał teaches in flawless English. So no awkward sign language by the pool—he’s got you.

We asked him what keeps him going after all these years. His answer? “I still get in the water every day, and I still love it.” Simple. Real.
