The Lowdown
Alright, Poznań, it’s time to wake up! Pickleball is no longer some underground hobby—it’s straight-up taking over the city. You’ve probably heard whispers about it, seen people swinging paddles on courts you never noticed before, or maybe even scrolled past it on your feed. But let’s get one thing clear: pickleball is here to stay, and it’s about to blow up even bigger in 2025. A big shoutout to Paweł Rychter for the photos by the way!

So, What’s the Hype?
Pickleball is like if tennis, badminton, and ping pong had a wild night and created the perfect sport. It’s played on a smaller court, using a paddle and a plastic ball with holes, making it way easier to get into than tennis but just as competitive when you want it to be. The best part? It’s all about fast-paced action, finesse over power, and a community that welcomes everyone—whether you’re a complete newbie or someone looking to dominate the court.

Poznań is Going All In
A few years ago, finding a place to play in Poznań was a mission. Three guys with a passion for the sport had to get creative, using badminton courts because there were zero dedicated pickleball courts in the city. Fast forward to today, and thanks to their hustle, Pickleball Poznań is now a full-blown movement.

With a solid partnership with Olimpia Tennis Park, the city now has its first dedicated pickleball courts, meaning there’s finally a proper space for the sport to grow. And let’s be real—Poznań is known for embracing fresh trends, so it’s no surprise that more and more people are catching the pickleball fever.
Tournaments in Poznań – Are You Ready?
If you thought pickleball was just for casual fun, think again. Poznań is on the map for major tournaments, including the Polish Pickleball Tour (PPT), which is one of the top three pickleball events in Poland. This year, they’re stepping it up even more—joining the World Pickleball Championships, meaning there’s a real chance for international players to hit up Poznań.
But don’t stress—this tournament isn’t just for pros. They’ve got categories for both open-level ballers and beginners (3.5), so even if you’ve just started playing, you can jump in and experience the action. And if you’re still not sure? No problem—there’ll be open courts where you can just grab a paddle and give it a go.
How to Get Involved in Poznań
- Join the Pickleball Poznań group on Facebook—that’s where all the updates, training sessions, and tournaments get posted.
- They’re running indoor sparring sessions on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, plus they’ve just launched a beginner-friendly group.
- Training sessions cost 20-40 PLN, which covers court fees and equipment. Wanna go all-in? Private lessons with top coaches are available too.

Where to Play in Poznań?
Right now, Olimpia Tennis Park is the go-to spot for dedicated pickleball courts. During summer, you can book your own court seven days a week, and in winter, it’s available on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. If you’re looking to sharpen your skills, Jakub Kiejnich is training players on-site and can help you get started.

The Future of Pickleball in Poznań
This is just the beginning. The Pickleball Poznań founders crew, Kuba, Wojtek and Michał, are already working on expanding the sport beyond the city, with big plans to open more dedicated courts and create even bigger events. Even one of their own, Karolina Owczarek, is out there competing internationally, proving that Poznań has serious talent in the game.

Final Word? Don’t Sleep on This!
Poznań is known for leading trends, not following them—and right now, pickleball is the next big thing. Whether you’re looking for a new sport, a fun way to stay active, or just a fresh way to hang with friends, this is your sign to pick up a paddle and jump in. 2025 is the year of pickleball, and Poznań is at the center of it all. See you on the court! 🔥🎾
