Yo, Poznań!
We know, we know… it’s been a minute since our last foodie drop. We took a little “I need to fit in my jeans again” break from reviewing restaurants. But let’s be honest — willpower is no match for the scent of crispy bacon and fresh brioche. So yeah… we’re back. And we came hungry.
So, what’s new in the land of forks and cravings? Well, if you’ve ever stumbled out of a party at 7am looking for a solid breakfast spot (don’t lie, we’ve all been there), you know early openers in this city are rarer than polite taxi drivers at 4am. But hold tight, we found one: SiSi — Jeżyce’s latest café-bistro hybrid and your new morning obsession.

Why “SiSi”?
Word on the street is, it’s the owner’s daughter’s nickname — and honestly, who doesn’t keep calling their kid sweet names well into adulthood?
The spot is run by a married couple, and guess what? It’s their first dive into gastronomy. Brave? For sure. Risky? Maybe. But did they deliver? Oh yeah.
The Vibe
Located right on the corner of Szamarzewskiego and Kraszewskiego, this place is impossible to miss. Right across from the tram stop (thank you, universe). From the outside, it’s giving mini Paris café with soft awnings and big bright windows. Step inside, and it’s Polish-modern chic with a splash of that romantic French vibe. It’s cozy, tasteful, and clearly no budget shortcuts were taken. Warm lighting, thoughtful details — big yes from us.

Now let’s get to the menu.
Opens at 7:30am on weekdays (legends), and 8am on weekends (fair enough — even breakfast royalty needs beauty sleep). Closes daily at 15:30, which means they’re proudly planting their flag in the breakfast and brunch-only zone. Respect.
We skipped the standard stuff (though it sounds lovely), and went straight for their top three dishes, a cortado coffee and a Matcha Tonic

SiSi SPECIAL – TWO LEVELS OF DELICIOUSNESS
On the upper plate, you get:
Poached egg on fluffy brioche with spinach, hollandaise, semi-dried tomatoes, and crispy bacon — rich, creamy, a perfect balance of fresh and salty with that satisfying crunch from the bacon. It hits you like a warm hug from a French grandma.

On the plate below you get:
Liver parfait on that same brioche with sour cherry jam and crushed pistachios. Sweet, savory, and a little nutty — it’s like the grown-up cousin of your favorite holiday pâté. Unexpected, indulgent, and very much chef’s kiss. Presentation? Elegant but not try-hard. You can definitely ‘Gram it without filters.

EMPRESS SISI’S PANCAKES
Fluffy, golden pancakes stacked like royalty, drizzled in English cream, and topped with caramelized plums with cinnamon and fresh mint.

This one is for your sweet tooth — like brunch and dessert had a beautiful, syrupy baby. Me? I’m already sweet enough (hahaha), so it was a bit on the sugary side for my savage tastebuds, but no doubt it’ll win hearts.

TREE OF HAPPINESS – 6 SHOTS (For 2 people)
And now, the real MVP. A full-on sharing experience — six petite dishes served in tasting glasses, served with a shot of Tea Royal 0% and fresh bread on the side. Each bite is a mini explosion of flavor.

Burrata with lemon pesto, pistachios & semi-dried tomatoes – our personal fave. That burrata? Like a cloud dipped in sunshine. Zingy pesto meets mellow cream, the crunch of pistachio seals the deal.

Egg pasta with ricotta, horseradish mousse & chives – creamy with a kick.

Roasted pepper pasta, feta & coriander – smokey, salty, herbaceous.

Poached egg, spinach, hollandaise & bacon – like SiSi Special in shot form.

Beetroot tartare, smoked plum & toasted pecans – earthy, sweet, and fancy AF.
Mushroom pâté with pickled cucumber gel – deep, umami flavor with a tangy twist.
It’s a rollercoaster for your tastebuds and genius from a branding perspective. Who doesn’t want to say they’ve ordered “The Tree of Happiness”?

The Last Bite
Did we leave happy? 100%. The concept, the design, the menu — it all clicks. For a first-time restaurant, the owners nailed the vibe and clearly understand their local Jeżyce crowd. The place fills up fast, especially in the early hours, and it deserves to. Even asked for what we couldn’t eat to be packed for take-away. Guys in the office will be happy!

Would I come back for another early-morning feast? Without hesitation. Catch me there, sipping Tea Royal and pretending I’m in Paris — but with better prices and more pierogi options.
