The first Billy’s restaurant was established in 2011 in Gdańsk but now we are lucky enough to have our very own Billy’s in Poznan. After opening its doors in the Old Market Square in mid-June 2022, they have been quickly recognized as the best American Restaurant in Poznan. The menu includes the classics of American cuisine, starting from their breakfast proposal like pancakes, through lunch and dinner with burgers, steaks, and ribs leading the way.
Hamburgers may be known as an American fast food staple today, but did you know their origin story dates back to the growth of cattle domestication in Hamburg, Germany, during the 12th century. In fact, many quintessential American dishes are unique takes on food originally from other culinary traditions. American immigrants added their own twist and viola, the American restaurant was born. Billy’s menu is no different and you can expect dishes among others, Classic American ribs, steaks, burgers, fajitas, and of course milkshakes. While ordering, you will hear the familiar sound of popcorn popping in the background for your free bucket of popcorn as soon as you arrive. A nice touch.
We ordered four dishes. The first to arrive was the massive 1100g TOMAHAWK STEAK. It’s not always available so ask the waiter if it’s in stock. It’s a special type of steak cut with a longer rib (700 / 900 g). Flexible, marbled, and delicate meat. Due to its size, the steak requires a longer heat treatment and is served with extras and a sauce to choose from. Mouth-watering! We also tried the 570g ROCKEFELLER BURGER with 180g of Beef, breaded cheese (130g), bacon, and lettuce all served in a black bread bun. burger should be soft and moist, yet it should not fall apart and disintegrate in your hands. The burger meat had a springy bounce and was juicy yet didn’t drip all over the place which is a pet hate of ours. Highly recommended!
Next up was Billy’s CLASSIC AMERICAN RIBS. Pork ribs (500 g), prepared according to their original recipe with grilled pineapple. Served with fries or baked potato with cottage cheese and chives. You know ribs are perfect when they are tender and fall off the bone. Perfect! If you want to share then the BIG SKY GRILL (1100 g) is the ultimate pick. Chicken wings, shrimp tempura, onion rings, chicken tenderloins, and garlic bread with cheese served on a wooden platter will blow you away! It is served with garlic, enchilada, BBQ, and sweet chili sauce. Perfect as a starter among friends!
Last but not least we have to recommend their creamy milkshakes. With a choice from Peanut butter, Oreo, Snickers, and Fruit shakes there is something for everyone. We can honestly say they are probably the best in town. Dont just take our word for it though. Head to the market square and try our recommendations for yourselves. You will thank us later!
