As tattoo studios in Poznan become ubiquitous, Soul Nation on Ratajczaka 31 stands out with its diverse team of artists. We chatted with Sonja, the owner, about this exciting new project.
Hi Sonja. When did you open Soul Nation?
Hi, we opened Soul Nation in September 2023.
How many artists do you have in your crew?
Currently, we have five tattoo artists, two piercing specialists, and a couple of interns. Expect that number to grow!
What styles do they specialize in?

Excellent. Let me introduce them to you. First up we have @souris_tt who loves Neo-traditional with bold, dark outlines. There is a feeling of subtle dimension and the use of saturated colors. This dimension is not a 3D type of tattoo, yet they contain lines that vary in weight. This style of tattoo art consists of an illustrated look.
Next is @mojawina_tattoo who specializes in illustration graphic style with intricate details, and a focus on storytelling creating visually striking and meaningful designs.
Next is @tattoo_brooo who focuses on Anime and Newtraditional. Anime style in tattoos draws inspiration from Japanese animation, featuring bold lines and vibrant colors, often depicting characters with exaggerated features. On the other hand, New Traditional style is a modern evolution of the classic Traditional style, maintaining bold outlines but incorporating a broader color palette and realism elements.
Next is @kapula_ink who loves dark graphics with bold and intense imagery with a focus on gothic, macabre themes. They are characterized by thick outlines, high contrast, and a limited color palette, creating a mysterious and edgy aesthetic.
Last but not least is the brilliant @orlovsky_61 who is amazing at dark realistic horror and blends realistic details with macabre themes, featuring eerie and unsettling subject matter. The style emphasizes lifelike elements, dark aesthetics, and a limited color palette to create visually intense and horror-inspired designs.

For now, I’m into painting. Viktor, my business partner, is the soul of the studio and handles the management.
Hi Viktor. What is the hardest part of your job?
I would say creating an amazing crew. This is the key to success.
What prices can we expect at Soul Nation?
Prices start at 300 PLN for something small. ^-7 hour sessions are around 1600- 1800 PLN. It depends obviously on the project.
Is there anything you would advise your artists against?
We avoid controversial symbols like swastikas, and no boyfriend/girlfriend names on the face. We also don’t tattoo eyes.
