Yo Poznań!
You might remember Marta Staniszewska from our earlier feature — the powerhouse behind Studio Progress in Śródka. Well, this time we went deeper. We’re talking sweat, science, snacks, and why Poznań’s women can finally train without feeling like they just walked onto the set of Love Island: Gym Edition. We sat down with her and her dog for a cheeky chat about fitness, food, and what really makes Studio Progress tick.

The Interview
Hi Marta! We finally get to meet! When was the “aha” moment for Studio Progress?
When I worked in other gyms, women would always ask if I knew of any female-only spaces. I figured — why not just create one myself?
You’ve got more degrees than a sauna. Was it nutrition first or fitness first?
Nutrition came first! But I’ve always been into sports, so combining the two just made sense.
If you weren’t doing this…?
Probably traveling the world.
Nice! Where’s next?
Korea for sure!

For anyone new to Studio Progress — what’s the vibe in one line?
Smart moves, trainer support, and great atmosphere.
How important was it to make this women-only?
Very. I think we’re the only one like this around here, and honestly — it was overdue. Women needed a space to feel comfortable, supported, and not watched while trying to perfect their form.
What are women most tired of in regular gyms?
Being stared at — especially during certain exercises. Guys will be guys, unfortunately. laughs
Do dudes ever try to sneak in?
Not really, but sometimes they peek through the window. Maybe we’ll start charging admission for the show. laughs
What’s one nutrition myth that drives you crazy?
That carbs make you fat. Nope — it’s the donuts. Well… the fifth one, anyway.
How “clean” should a diet really be?
About 80%. The other 20% can be naughty. Life’s too short for endless kale.
Caught with a sneaky donut lately?
It happens… laughs balance, right?
Most underrated food?
Raw red paprika. Total vitamin C bomb.
Go-to post-workout snack?
Banana, cottage cheese, and nuts.
Supplements — overhyped or essential?
If your diet’s balanced, not really needed. Except Vitamin D — because, well… Poland.

If your fridge could talk, what would it say about you?
That I love yogurts, tomatoes, paprika, cottage cheese, eggs, and cucumbers. Basically, I live in salad heaven.
One thing everyone should do daily?
Walk 10 minutes after a meal. Helps digestion — and keeps you from face-planting into a food coma.
Exercise you secretly hate but still make clients do?
Deadlifts. Important, but ugh. Walking lunges come in close second.

Most bizarre diet trend?
Keto. Enough said.
You mix dietetics and training — what’s the secret sauce?
It’s like two-for-one gains. I make sure what you eat and how you move actually work together.
Before-and-after pics — yes or no?
Sure! If it motivates you and keeps you going, why not?
How would you rate the average Poznań guy’s fitness level?
laughs Let’s just say there’s room for progress.
How much is a personal training session?
Around 170 PLN per hour. Worth every rep.
Last time you hit McDonald’s?
About six months ago!
Final question — fat and rich guy or poor and healthy?
laughs I can always make him slimmer!
