Reforma: Bringing Poznań’s Old Tenements Back to Life (One Brick, One Story, One Ceiling at a Time)

Hey Poznan!

Having lived in Poznań for over 20 years, I’ve seen the city pull off one heck of a glow-up. When I first landed here, buying an apartment in the city center was like joining an exclusive club — and the only membership perk was damp walls and a view of your neighbor’s laundry. The market was wild. You couldn’t even buy a proper apartment; you’d get a share of a building and a lifetime of confusion.

So, instead of waiting for the city to sort itself out, we packed our dreams and moved to Kiekrz — a lovely lakeside area where (back int he day) cows outnumbered neighbors and Wi-Fi was considered science fiction. Back then, there were five restaurants in Poznan (all serving the same schnitzel) and absolutely zero Starbucks. You had to make your own cappuccino, like some kind of pioneer!

From Poland’s past glory days to today, the modern Poznań skyline is full of shiny new builds, cranes, and “coming soon” banners. But what if you’re not into glass towers and modern minimalism? What if your heart beats faster at the sight of high ceilings, creaky wooden floors, and ornate plasterwork that’s seen more history than your entire family tree?

That’s where Reforma Nieruchomosci comes in — the company literally rebuilding Poznań’s soul, one tenement house at a time.

The Dream Team: Alicja & Mateusz

When we sat down (over coffee, obviously) with Alicja Pińkowska and Mateusz Polaszek-Pinkowski, the brains and hearts behind Reforma, we immediately got it. These two aren’t just developers; they’re enthusiasts on a mission. They talk about real estate with the same passion most people reserve for pizza or football.

Mateusz — lawyer by trade, real estate whisperer by nature kind of guy who talks about transparency and trust like they’re the foundation of every project (spoiler: they actually are). When he’s not scouting properties or building his dream team, he’s probably out cycling or singing — yes, singing. (We’re still waiting for the Reforma Christmas album.)

Alicja, on the other hand, describes Reforma as a woman — elegant, strong, and beautifully complex. She started by designing interiors and now ensures entire buildings keep their architectural integrity. A lawyer, designer, and communication coach, she brings as much warmth and empathy to the work as she does expertise. And let’s be honest — having someone who understands both contracts and color palettes? That’s a superpower.

The Mission

Reforma’s team of architects, engineers, lawyers, and all-around wizards has already sold over 200 apartments, completed 23 projects, and revitalized more than 16,000 m² of historic space. They’ve even been recognized by Forbes Diamonds 2022 for their credibility and by the National Heritage Institute for restoring the stunning Art Nouveau building at 50 Poznańska Street — now shining like it’s 1904 again (but with better plumbing).

Every Reforma project is built on four core values:

  • Safe: Transparent and reliable — no shady developer tricks here.
  • Profitable: Smart locations that keep their value and charm.
  • Refined: Old-school beauty meets modern comfort.
  • Socially important: Green courtyards, bike racks, eco-renovations — because giving a building new life shouldn’t come at the planet’s expense.

Basically, they’re proving that real estate can be both beautiful and responsible — a rare combo these days.

Current Projects

Got a thing for Jeżyce’s vintage charm? Or maybe you dream of waking up near Stary Browar with a park view outside your window? Reforma’s got you covered.

Niedziałkowskiego 1

Ready-made apartments near Stary Browar and Nowy Rynek, with park views.

Kościuszki 71–73

A stylish tenement close to the University of Economics — the kind of place that makes you feel like an old soul with modern taste.

Our Take

In a city where history and modernity are constantly elbowing each other for space, Reforma has found the sweet spot — restoring beauty without erasing the past. If you’ve ever dreamed of living in a space with both soul and Wi-Fi, this is for you!

We’ve got an interview with the power couple, Alicja and Mateusz, coming soon — plus our classic Top 5 apartment picks and a short video feature in the works. Stay tuned to Poznań Daily — it’s going to be a good one.
