Poznań Daily’s Sweetest Assignment Yet: Inside Poznań’s Chocolate Museum Where You Can Make Your Own Chocolate

Hey Poznan!

We’ve been on the hunt for Poznań’s coolest workshops for a while now — from carving wood like lumberjack artists to singing lessons that could save your next karaoke night, to high heels dance classes that had our calves questioning life choices. But this time, we decided to tone down the chaos and explore something that’s pure happiness: chocolate.

Enter: The Chocolate Museum on Wrocławska 12 in the Old Town. Don’t let the “museum” part scare you — this isn’t your typical “look but don’t touch” setup. Sure, there’s plenty to learn (and eat), but you also get to roll up your sleeves and make your own chocolate bar. Yep, this is probably the only workshop in the city where getting your fingers messy is actually encouraged.

Madame Chocolate

We met with Joanna, the mastermind behind the place — and honestly, if Poznań had its own Willy Wonka, it’d be her (minus the purple coat, plus a lot more chill). She’s turned her chocolate dream into a fully functioning mini-factory, where the smell alone could make you sign a lifelong loyalty pact to cocoa.

A visit here isn’t just about stuffing your face — though, let’s be real, that happens too. Joanna’s team takes you on a trip that starts deep in Africa, where the cocoa beans grow, all the way to the chocolate bars lining European shelves. There’s a short film, hands-on lessons, and plenty of sweet trivia along the way. You’ll learn about how chocolate was first made, watch pralines being created (with unlimited tasting, bless them), and even try roasted cocoa beans — spoiler: they taste way less sweet than they look.

Chocolate DIY Zones

And the workshops? Absolute chaos in the best way. You can make your own Poznań-themed chocolate bar complete with little chocolate goats (yes, really) or craft edible chocolate that looks like something out of Bill’s Candy Shop in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. It’s weirdly satisfying — and apparently a hit for families, kids, and even first dates. Because nothing says “romantic connection” like comparing whose chocolate goat turned out worse.

The whole experience wraps up with your very own chocolate masterpiece to take home… or, more realistically, to eat before you even get out the door.

Oh, and if you can’t make it to Wrocławska, Joanna’s got a mobile chocolate museum that literally brings the cocoa party to you. Birthday? Office party? Tuesday afternoon existential crisis? There’s a workshop for that.

Our Final Bite

We’re already booked in to try it ourselves — purely for research purposes, of course. Expect a full write-up soon (once we recover from the sugar high) and an interview with Joanna herself to find out how Poznań ended up with its own little chocolate kingdom.

But if you can’t wait for our review, check out their website, give their Instagram a stalk, or call them at 502 454 177 to snag a spot because Christmas workshops are filling up fast!

Stay tuned — we’ll be back soon with chocolate on our hands, stories to tell, and probably a dentist appointment to book. 🙂
