Let’s be real
The sushi scene in Poznań is a jungle. There’s a spot on every corner claiming to be the real deal. But if you’ve been around the raw fish block like we have, you know that not all sushi is created equal. So, as your trusty taste-testing street soldiers at Poznań Daily, we’re always hunting for that next special place.
And guess what? We might’ve found it.

Enter: Katana Boom Sushi
Tucked away on Nowowiejskiego, this isn’t your typical sit-down-and-sip-sake joint. Katana Boom Sushi is a dark kitchen, which means no tables, no candles, no awkward background jazz — just pure sushi heat made for delivery.
With a name like Katana Boom, we were expecting fireworks. So we put them to the test, the only way we know how — we ordered straight to the office, 3rd floor, no elevator (respect to the delivery guy ).
And not just any delivery — we’re talking in-house runners zipping through the city like samurai on scooters. Word is, it’s the fastest sushi delivery in town, and oh — delivery is FREE. Respect.
It was blazing hot outside, so we grabbed the goods and hit the park near our office. Gotta eat fresh, breathe air, and, you know… get that golden hour sushi content. Priorities.

The Set We Chose: Kajdzen Set – 32 pieces, 130 PLN
Middle of the road price-wise, 4 packed rolls, but flavor-wise?
Here’s what went down:

The Samurai Roll
Nori / Rice / Sriracha sauce / Cucumber / Avocado / Fried salmon / Melted cheese / Unagi sauce

The kick from the sriracha hits first, then the buttery avocado chills it down. Fried salmon gives it that crispy pop, while the melted cheese unites the chaos. Unagi sauce ties it all together like a soy-glazed bow. This roll has layers — literally and emotionally.
Philadelphia with Shrimp
Nori / Rice / Melted cheese / Cucumber / Ebi shrimp / Spicy sauce / Tobiko

Think creamy meets crunchy. The shrimp is juicy, the melted cheese is that naughty richness, and the spicy sauce adds just enough fire without being rude. Tobiko on top gives it that signature sushi pop. Could eat this roll on loop.
Avocado with Salmon
Nori / Rice / Melted cheese / Salmon / Cucumber / Avocado / Unagi sauce / Sesame mix

Classic, clean, comforting. A hug in sushi form. The sesame mix gives it that toasted depth, and the combo of fresh salmon and avo? Say less. Straight velvet.
Rolka Serowa (Cheese Roll)
Nori / Rice / Melted cheese / Campio / Cheddar cheese / Unagi sauce

Alright, cheese lovers — this one’s for you. It’s like sushi had a fling with your favorite grilled cheese and they made something beautiful. The unagi drizzle keeps it from getting too heavy. It’s weird. It’s wonderful. It works.
Final Verdict
Freshness: 10/10
Speed: 10/10
Flavour: 9/10 (only because 10/10 doesn’t exist!)
Sitting in the park feeling smug with our sushi: Also 10/10

Katana Boom isn’t trying to be the flashiest place in town. They’re just focused on making sushi that actually tastes like sushi — not like fish in mayo wearing a rice coat. This is a welcome (and much-needed) addition to Poznań’s delivery game.

And yes — we were so into it, we already reached out to them for an interview. Stay tuned — we’re hoping to sit down (or stand awkwardly in their kitchen) with the people behind the boom. Maybe they’ll toss us a roll or two.
This is our new go-to sushi plug, and we’re not gatekeeping. You’re welcome.
