Yo Poznan!
So, get this: a couple of us were out in the Old Market Square, dodging tourists, pigeons, and overpriced cocktails, when we caught a whiff of something different… something fishy – in the best possible way.
Turns out, Poznań’s newest culinary hotspot isn’t slinging burgers or bao buns. Nope. This time, it’s fish that’s making waves. And it’s all going down at Czarnomorka – which, for those of you who don’t speak the local lingo, translates to Black Sea.
Yeah, the name kinda gives it away.

Fish in Meat-Land? Bold Move. Respect.
We all know Poland has a national love affair with meat — sausages, schnitzels, you name it. But things are changing. A new middle class is on the rise — well-traveled, style-conscious, and absolutely living for good food in cool places. And they want seafood. The fresher, the better.

Czarnomorka isn’t just fresh. It’s fresher than your ex’s excuses. This place is serving up straight-from-the-sea vibes, without the crazy prices. Think fish market meets hip restaurant, sprinkled with nautical aesthetics and a pinch of black-and-blue cool.
First thing you see when you walk in? A bed of ice and fish staring at you like you’re late for dinner. You can buy it raw to cook at home (if you’re feeling cheffy) or — better idea — let the pros handle it. Because the menu prices are shockingly reasonable.

From Crimea with Love (and Fish)
The Czarnomorka story? It’s actually part of a much bigger journey. It all started when founder Olga Kopylova got a simple gift from a friend in Crimea: freshly caught fish from the Black Sea. The taste sparked an idea.
What if you could bring the sea to the city?
What started as a modest 65 m² fish shop in Kyiv back in 2014 has since blown up into a full-blown seafood empire. But it wasn’t all smooth sailing — their first crack at going international sank fast when they didn’t adapt to local tastes. Lesson learned.

Fast forward to Poland, and this time they nailed the landing: fresh name, fresh vibe, fresh menu — all dialed in for Polish foodies hungry for something different. And despite the success, you’ll still catch founder Olga out on the boats, handpicking the catch herself. That’s the kind of energy we respect.
And now… they’ve docked in Poznań.

Taste of the Sea (No Life Jacket Required)
We popped in for a quick chat with Elizabeth, the manager — and lucky us, she treated us to a mini tasting session.
First up: Black Sea Fish Soup served in a white enamel mug with blue borders. Looks like it came straight off a fishing boat. Smells like heaven. Tastes like the coast on a good day. I felt like a fisherman on leave, living my best nautical life.

Oh — and listen to this: between 11:00 and 16:00, the soup is FREE with any main dish. That alone is reason enough to drop everything and go.
Next? Deep-fried anchovies — 100g of crunchy, golden glory for just 16 PLN. Sixteen. We almost cried.

Vibes? 10/10.
The interior is where maritime meets minimalism. Subtle seaside touches. Clean lines. Fresh smells (not fishy — fresh). It’s got that “I’m classy but chill” energy. Perfect date spot, lunch break escape, or after-work hangout if you’re trying to look cool but stay lowkey.
So What’s On the Plate?
The menu at Czarno Morko is straight-up oceanic fire. Think tuna carpaccio drizzled with anchovy-truffle dressing, or crispy shrimp in kimchi aioli that hit just right.
Feeling fancy? Dive into fresh oysters, from Fin de Claire to Gillardeau — slurp-worthy and stylish.

Mains go hard too: creamy seafood risotto, grilled sea bass with sautéed tomatoes, and even a fish burger with avocado and green apple that flips the script on fast food.
This spot doesn’t mess around — it’s fresh, it’s bold, and it’s pure class.
What’s Next?
We’re lining up a full sit-down with Elizabeth and a peek inside the kitchen to meet the chef. We want to find out how they’re pulling off these prices with such quality. Plus, we’ve heard whispers about some signature dishes that might just make Czarnomorka the foodie highlight of our year.
But hey — don’t wait for us. If you’re in the mood for something new, light, and crazy delicious, Czarnomorka is your next move.
