AKSARA – Bali Hits Jeżyce! Do They Live Up to the Hype?

The Lowdown

Jeżyce is THE spot for foodies in Poznań, no doubt about it. Szamarzewskiego 23? That’s prime real estate in a neighborhood packed with some of the city’s best eats. So when we heard about AKSARA, a brand-new Balinese restaurant setting up shop right in the middle of it all, we had one big question—can they handle the heat?

To get the lowdown, we popped in and caught up with the owners, Putri and Kadek, a couple originally from Bali. Their story is as good as their food—two souls who met in Bali, then took separate paths (Putri to Miami, Kadek to Poznań), only to reunite and bring a slice of their homeland straight to Poland. The moment you step inside, the vibrant Bali-inspired photos instantly transport you, setting the perfect mood for an authentic island experience!

The Real Deal

But here’s the deal: this isn’t just some “inspired by Bali” spot—this is the real thing. Most of the spices? Flown in from Bali because you literally can’t get them here. The menu? A straight-up love letter to Busungbiu Village, where Kadek grew up, a place where food isn’t just about eating—it’s about connection, culture, and community.

So what’s on the menu? If you want authentic Balinese street food, among others, the dish they swear by is…

Nasi Jinngo

Bali’s version of a grab-and-go street food classic. It’s a small portion of rice wrapped in a banana leaf, served with a mix of shredded chicken, spicy sambal, fried tempeh, and egg. Simple, cheap, delicious—the kind of thing you’d pick up from a street vendor at 2 AM after a wild night out.

The Dream

Beyond just food, Putri and Kadek have a dream—to make it big in Poland and give back to their families back home. They come from humble beginnings, and now, through AKSARA, they’re not just sharing their flavors but their culture, their roots, and their journey.

Fun Fact

And let’s talk about the price—reasonable for Poland, but fun fact: in Bali, a similar meal would cost 2-3 zł. So if you’re ever craving a one-way ticket to paradise, beaches, street food and sunshine, Bali might be calling your name.

Wrapping Up

We’ll be back soon for a full taste test and our top 3 must-try dishes, but in the meantime—go check them out! Poznań hasn’t seen anything like this before. This could be something special.
