Pride Month has officially arrived

Love it, hate it, dance at it, accidentally walk into it while looking for a kebab — one thing’s for sure: Pride Month has officially arrived in Poznań.

For the next few weeks, rainbow flags will be popping up across the city faster than new apartment developments, as Poznań Pride 2026 rolls into town with a packed schedule of events, culminating in the city’s 22nd Equality March on June 20.

And no, it’s not just a march.

The Big One: Equality March

The headline event takes place on Saturday, June 20, when thousands of people are expected to gather at Adam Mickiewicz Square before marching through the city centre.

Whether you’re joining in, watching from the sidelines, or wondering why there are suddenly glitter-covered people dancing outside your favourite café, you probably won’t be able to miss it.

The march has been a fixture in Poznań for over two decades and has grown into one of the city’s largest annual public events.

Start With a Picnic, End With a Silent Disco

Before the march kicks off, the area around Plac Mickiewicza will host the Pride Picnic from 11am.

Think food, music, community groups, information stands and enough rainbow merchandise to make your credit card nervous.

Then comes the march.

Then comes the drag.

Then comes the party.

Because after a full day of walking, waving flags and taking selfies, Pride participants will head to DRAG/TUTAJ, one of the festival’s biggest evening events. Expect outrageous outfits, huge personalities and enough sequins to temporarily blind a small village.

And if that’s still not enough?

There’s the Poznań Pride Silent Disco, where hundreds of people put on headphones and dance together while confusing absolutely everyone walking past. From a distance it looks like a flash mob. Up close it looks like organised chaos. Either way, it’s brilliant.

More Than Just Glitter

Despite what some people think, Pride isn’t only about parties.

The festival programme also includes discussions, workshops, book clubs, art events, history talks, yoga sessions and community meet-ups covering everything from queer culture and literature to activism and identity. Check the full programme here.

So yes, there will be dancing.

But there will also be thinking.

Just maybe not at the same time.

Poznań’s Most Colourful Month

Whether Pride is your thing or not, it has become one of the most visible and talked-about events on Poznań’s summer calendar.

For three weeks, the city gets a little louder, a little brighter and a lot more colourful.

And if nothing else, it provides a rare opportunity to see a drag queen, a university professor, a politician, a student, a tourist and somebody’s confused grandfather all sharing the same street.

Only in Poznań.
