Yo Poznan
Poznań, y’all have spoken. Our inbox has been going off with one message in particular:“Yo, when’s the next Poznań Daily interview dropping?”
Well guess what… it’s right now.
This week, we went back to one of our favorite low-key spots that’s honestly not so low-key anymore — Escape Arena in Wilda. And who better to spill them than Gosia and Sławek Adamek, the husband-and-wife duo who went from printing papers to building full-blown universes? Here’s how our no-filter sit-down with them went down…

The Interview
Poznań Daily: Hi! Good to see you again! Let’s start easy — which was the first escape room you built?
Gosia: Jaskinia Hazardu. That was our starting point — a bit raw at the beginning, but it’s evolved a lot since.
Sławek: It’s had upgrades, sure, but the soul of it is the same. Still gets hearts racing.
PD: Did your printing experience help build Escape Arena?
Gosia: Definitely. 20 years running a print biz taught us how to make things work, fast. We’re used to pressure.
Sławek: Plus, we already knew how to design, budget, and deliver something that people interact with physically. That helped a lot.
PD: Whose idea was it to open an escape room?
Sławek: That was me. I was hooked on the concept.
Gosia: I wasn’t sold at first… but once we built our first room and saw the reactions? I was all in.

PD: What happens when players get stuck?
Sławek: Oh, we guide them. Over the mic, little clues, nothing too obvious. We want people to succeed and struggle a bit.
Gosia: Less than 3% escape without help. Our rooms are designed to challenge.
PD: What if there’s an emergency?
Gosia: We’ve done blindfold drills, trained the whole team. Doors unlock automatically, we’ve got cameras — total control.
Sławek: We take safety super seriously. No drama, just action if needed.
Which room is hardest?
Both: Jaskinia Hazardu.
Sławek: Most people don’t expect it to be that intense. But it’s a brain-buster.
PD: Yo, we’ve seen some hilarious vids and pics of you and your son online — what’s the deal? You guys go full method acting or what?
Sławek: Hahaha, yeah, we definitely get into it. Sometimes we’re running around in costume, pretending we’re in the middle of the story ourselves. Gotta keep the vibe alive, right? It’s all part of the madness!

PD: Favorite room?
Sławek: Jaskinia again. I built it. It’s personal.
Gosia: Galaktyka Tajemnic. I love the futuristic vibe and the light effects. It feels like a movie.
PD: How is it working with your son?
Gosia: It’s great. Family vibe all the way. He’s learning fast and bringing fresh energy.
Sławek: But yeah… sometimes we clash. Typical parent-kid tension. All love, though.

Are the rooms in English too?
Gosia: Absolutely. Instructions, clues, everything. We get visitors from all over — Erasmus students, tourists, expats.
PD: Do you watch the players via CCTV?
Sławek: For sure! It’s the best entertainment we get all day.
Gosia: The reactions, the panic, the “aha!” moments — priceless.
PD: What’s the fastest someone’s cleared a room?
Sławek: Me — 9 minutes. But I mean, I built the room.
Gosia: Fastest real group? Around 35 minutes. But the average is more like 60–90 minutes. And if people are close at the end, we usually let them finish or open the gate for them hahaha.

PD: How do people book?
Gosia: Online, super simple. Just go to escapearena.pl, pick a room, and lock it in. The website is also in English.
The Newest Room
PD: “Cień Nietoperza” is your newest room. Can you spill some secrets?
Sławek: This one’s dark. Gritty Gotham vibes.
Gosia: You’re a Gotham PD squad investigating an abandoned pumping station. Expect shadows, comic book easter eggs, industrial mystery, and full-on cinematic suspense.
Sławek: If you love Batman, it’s gonna blow your bat-socks off. We’re pulling out all the stops.
And what’s up with that Pizza Hut collab? Still running?
Gosia: Yes! Until the end of July. You get a free Pizza Fantasy when you book with the password PIZZA HUT GÓRECKA.
Sławek: Four different flavors. It’s a win-win.
PD: Alright, serious question — which pizza’s your fave?
Sławek: Picante. I like it spicy.
Gosia: Salami for me — classic, can’t go wrong.
PD: Final question… can I see behind the scenes?
Sławek: laughs If we showed you, we’d have to erase your memory. Best to play the game like everyone else.
