Yo Poznan!

We’ve been saying it for years. When, oh when, will Poznań catch up with the rest of Europe’s big boys? We’ve got the gastronomy, we’ve got the music, we’ve even got boutique wine bars and jazz brunches… but one thing was always missing.

That sweet spot where fun meets friendly competition. Where beers are served with a side of banter, and your pride is on the line every time you pick up a ping pong paddle.

Well guess what? That day has finally come.

And it’s called Gierky – which loosely translates to “Little Games” for those still dodging Polish Duolingo (we see you).

Blink and You’ll Miss It

You’ve probably walked past it without knowing. Heck, we did. Located smack in the city center, tucked away down a sneaky passage off ul. Gwarna, right next to the tram stop. There’s a pink sign on the building (shout out to the branding team!) and a decent burger joint next door — but if you keep walking…

Boom. You’re in.

And what a space it is. We’re talking cavernous. Like, host-a-5-a-side-football-match level big.

But no turf here – this place is all about next-level activity bar madness. Think crazy golf, beer pong, shuffleboard, social darts, neon lights, massive lounge areas, a booming sound system, and probably the best looking drinks menu we’ve seen this year.

“Wait, What Even Is Gierky?”

Think of it as your go-to fun zone for grown-ups.
The best fun in the center of Poznań? Yeah, we’re backing that bold claim.

Whether you’re looking to embarrass your friends at darts, destroy your date at beer pong, or just chill with a gourmet cocktail and some shuffleboard swagger, Gierky has your back.

We spoke to Irena, the absolute boss of fun (aka manager), and she let us in on a little secret:

They’re planning a full-on experience day with us, where Poznań Daily will put everything to the test — from game skills to cocktail capacity (pray for us). We’ll be reviewing all the activities AND diving headfirst into their food menu.

What’s Cooking?

The menu specialty is their gourmet pinsa – and before you ask, it’s not just a fancy pizza.

Pinsa is a Roman-style flatbread, light, airy, crispy on the outside, and dangerously addictive. Perfect post-game fuel before the next round of darts or drinks.

We haven’t chosen our faves yet (that comes during our mission day), but we’re more than ready to sacrifice our waistlines in the name of content. #AllInForTheReaders

Cocktail O’Clock

Oh, and the drinks? These aren’t your sad soda mixers or “safe” mojitos.
Gierky’s cocktail game is strong. Signature recipes, slick presentation, and a little showmanship on the side. We’ll be doing a full cocktail crawl during our visit. If we text you random ping pong emojis later, you’ll know why.
