Yo Poznan!
Poznań is stunned. Wojciech Antoni, 18, vanished in March 2025 while supposedly traveling to Warsaw. Six months of worry, searches, and unanswered calls later… he appears—in full Ukrainian military uniform, standing in a video released by a Ukrainian volunteer recruitment center.

Wojciech declares he has joined the 25th Air Assault Brigade, motivated by a desire to defend Ukraine—and by extension, Europe—against Russian aggression. Fluent in English, he calls on Poles to “be ready to defend your homeland” and addresses them as his “brothers and sisters from Poland,” warning that the war is closer than many realize.
The revelation has left Poland divided. Is Wojciech a courageous young hero, bravely standing up for European security? Or is he a naive teenager risking everything on a war not his own—potentially being used as propaganda by Ukraine? 🤔
Some see him as an inspiration, proof that youth can act decisively in the face of injustice. Others question whether more teens might follow his example blindly, drawn by idealism or social media, without understanding the dangers.
Poznań police confirmed Wojciech is safe but gave no details. The teen’s family is relieved he’s alive, but the drama raises deeper questions: heroic patriot or misguided adventurer? Is Ukraine genuinely welcoming volunteers for the fight, or are they seizing on young foreigners for their image?
Whatever the answer, Wojciech Antoni’s story is a stark reminder that war isn’t a distant headline anymore—it’s knocking on Europe’s door, and some of our own kids are answering.
