New in Town: Tre Polska Lands Just Off the Old Market. Worth it or Keep Walking?

Poznań’s food scene is hotter than a wok on full flame. Every other week, it feels like some shiny new restaurant opens with marble tables, neon signs, and bathrooms fancier than most people’s apartments. So when we heard about old school Tre Polska, tucked just 30 meters off the Old Market at 23 Lutego 42, we knew we had to check if it’s worth your złoty—or if you should keep walking straight to the next Instagram palace.

Here’s the twist: the owner is from Vietnam (shoutout to Loc 👋), but instead of strictly pho and spring rolls, their main game is sushi. Yeah, you read that right—Vietnamese roots, but rolling maki like Tokyo pros. And honestly? That alone had us curious.

The vibe? Old school Asia. Think menus plastered with photos, a cozy, no-frills counter, and Loc smiling away while trying to explain dishes in his own freestyle mix of Vietnamese, broken Polish, and a sprinkle of English. It’s the kind of place you’d stumble into in Hanoi or Bangkok—no velvet chairs, no 50 zł cocktails.

Dish 1: Flying Noodles (40.90 PLN)

Presented like a magic trick—noodles “flying” midair, chopsticks suspended like Houdini dropped by for dinner. Eating them? About as practical as stilettos on cobblestones. But looks aside, the flavors slapped. The curry sauce was rich, coconutty, with just enough spice to wake you up, and the crispy chicken gave it crunch. Easily the best thing we ate here. If Tre Polska has a signature hit, this is it.

Dish 2: Vita Bowl with Salmon (55.90 PLN)

Grilled salmon, boiled veggies, mango, corn, rice, peanut sauce—sounds like a TikTok meal-prep reel, right? The taste? Solid but safe. Kinda felt like something you could whip up in your kitchen on a Sunday. That’s not always a bad thing—it was fresh and light—but presentation was… let’s say “functional.”

Dish 3: Sushi Combo (various prices)

This is their big focus, so we had to test it. A mix of salmon maki, tempura aburi salmon, and nigiri with salmon and mackerel. Verdict? Fresh, nicely rolled, clean flavors. Not Michelin star-level, but you won’t regret ordering it.

Bonus: Watermelon Lemonade

Straight-up delicious. Sweet, refreshing, and perfect with the sushi. Order it for sure!

The Wrap-Up

Tre Polska is in its early days and still finding its groove. It’s not where you go for a date night with candles and velvet seats. It’s where you pop in, grab some sushi or flying noodles, and bounce. Prices feel a bit steep considering the no-frills vibe, but Loc’s friendliness and authenticity go a long way. He made us feel welcome, and that counts.

Would we go back? Yeah—for the Flying Noodles alone. And if they tweak the prices down to match the old-school vibe, Tre Polska could be a low-key hit in the Old Market food jungle.
