One woman in Poznań decided that being late for a train wasn’t her fault — it was the traffic light’s fault. And obviously, the solution was simple: just pretend to be a police officer. The chaos went down at Rondo Kaponiera, one of the city’s busiest spots. According to reports, the impatient passenger started pressuring her taxi driver to blast through a red light.
“Go, it’s green,” she insisted. Plot twist: it wasn’t. When the driver refused (because, you know, cameras, fines, reality), she pulled out an object resembling a police badge and tried to convince him she was an officer.
Not Fooled
The taxi driver didn’t buy it. Calmly explained there are red-light cameras everywhere and that he wasn’t about to lose his license because someone missed their train.
The whole thing was recorded and quickly landed online. From there? It took police about five minutes of real detective work to figure out she was not an officer. Not even close.
On Thursday evening, Greater Poland Police confirmed the woman is detained and being questioned at the Provincial Police Headquarters in Poznań. The “badge” she flashed? Not an official police ID.

Impersonating a public official in Poland isn’t a cute little mistake. It’s a criminal offense punishable by up to one year in prison. All of this… because of a red light. Let this be your reminder: if you’re late, you’re late.
