PAN TUREK — ROUND 2: INSIDE THE REAL FLAVORS OF TURKEY

Yo Poznan!

Last time we hit Pan Turek, we got a spicy little teaser from Hakan and his crew. But this time? We pulled up properly — sat down, soaked it all in, and went deep into the Turkish flavor vault. And guess what? It hits even harder when you’re not just grabbing a kebab to-go.

First things first — this place is big.

You’d never guess from the street, but once you step inside, it opens up like a magic döner portal. Warm wooden tables and cosy interior, and then boom — out back? A full garden with big-ass tables, made for your whole crew. Perfect vibes for Turkish-style eating, which is all about sharing. Bring your friends, your family, or that random guy you met last weekend — just come hungry.

Tea first, always.

We kicked things off like proper locals — with a glass of hot, deep red Turkish tea from their stacked kettle setup. It’s got that strong, earthy punch but with a smooth, almost floral finish. No sugar bombs here — just the kind of tea that makes you want to slow down and vibe for a minute. And the best part? It’s unlimited. Sip as much as you want — it’s on the house.

We skipped the late-night kebab classic this time (save that for post-club Fridays, yeah?) and went full-on traditional:

The Iskender

This one’s a legend in Turkey. You’ve got juicy slices of house-made döner laid out over chunks of fresh, toasted Turkish bread. Then it’s drowned (yes, drowned) in hot tomato sauce, melted butter, and a generous splash of cool yogurt.

The flavors? Ridiculous. That contrast between crispy bread soaked in sauce and the smooth yogurt is straight-up addictive. You get savory, tangy, buttery, and creamy all at once — like a Turkish lasagna, but sexier.

BEYTI

A real MVP. Minced lamb-beef kebab, grilled on a skewer, then wrapped in soft lavash bread, sliced into bite-sized rolls and smothered in tomato sauce, butter, yogurt, and crushed pistachios.

It’s rich, smoky, and loaded with flavor. Not your average kebab — this one’s wrapped, sauced, and presented like it’s on a red carpet. In Turkey, it’s a go-to dish, and now we get why. Every bite is tender, juicy, and just melts in your mouth.

PAN TUREK ROLLS

This one’s got personality. Döner meat wrapped in lavash, chopped into small rolls, baked in a clay pot, then covered in yogurt and a vibrant tomato sauce.

It comes out bubbling and golden, with a crispy edge and a soft middle. The sauce combo adds tang and warmth, and the yogurt cools it all down — kind of like a spicy Turkish enchilada vibe. Lowkey one of the best things we tried.

Washed it all down with a cold glass of Ayran

If you’ve never had it, imagine a salty, yogurt-based drink — cold, creamy, and super refreshing. It cuts through all the richness and resets your mouth like a flavor power wash. Highly recommended if you’re going in hard on the grilled meats.

Final Word

Pan Turek doesn’t mess around. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and everything’s made with care and tradition. Whether you’re a Turkish food rookie or you grew up on this stuff, you’ll feel the difference.

Start with our favorites — the Iskender, Beyti, and Pan Turek Rolls — or just grab the menu and let your appetite decide. Either way, you’re in for a legit taste of Turkey, right here in the heart of Poznań.
