We Went Undercover with a Real Private Detective in Poznan – And Yeah, His Mobile Number Ends in 007!

The Mission

You asked, we delivered. Some of our readers have been hitting us up, asking if we knew any private detectives in Poznań. Maybe your partner’s been sneaking off for “overtime” a little too often? Maybe you keep seeing the same car in your rearview mirror? Or maybe you just binge-watched too many crime shows and now everything seems suspicious?

Whatever the case, we got curious ourselves. So, after some real detective work of our own, one name kept popping up—Detective Norbert Trelka.

Next Level

This guy isn’t some old-school trench coat type with a notepad and a magnifying glass. Nope. We’re talking next-level surveillance, drones in the sky, cameras that can snap a clear-as-day photo from 6 kilometers away. And, just to make it all even more cinematic, his phone number actually ends in 007. Yeah, we couldn’t make this up if we tried.

We met up with him at his luxurious office on Libelta Street, and from the moment we shook hands, we knew we weren’t dealing with a small-time PI. This guy means business.

The Interview

So, Norbert, Poznań is home for you?

“Absolutely. Born and raised here. This city is in my blood, which is why I love what I do—it’s my backyard, and I know it better than most.”

How long have you been in the detective game?

“I set up my own agency about 10 years ago, but my experience goes way further back. Let’s just say, I was always in circles where you needed to be observant and know how to find people who didn’t want to be found.”

What were you doing before?

Haha… If I told you, I’d have to make you disappear. Just kidding—kind of. Let’s just say my past jobs gave me all the skills I needed for this line of work.”

Do you need a license to be a private detective?

“Yeah, and not just anyone can get it. There are strict requirements, background checks, and you need to prove you’re not some loose cannon. We also need special permissions to investigate people—otherwise, it’s just stalking, isn’t it?”

Your job must be exciting, right?

“Exciting? It’s never boring, that’s for sure. Every case is different, every person has their own story, and the things people try to hide? Wow. If you knew half of what I’ve seen, you’d never trust anyone again.”

The Dirty Truth

What’s your most requested service?

“Divorce investigations. Easily the biggest chunk of my work. People want to know if their partner is being faithful, and let me tell you—when someone comes to me, they usually already know the answer. They just want proof.”

Is it more men checking up on wives, or wives checking up on husbands?

“Honestly? It’s 50/50. Cheating isn’t a ‘men only’ thing, and neither is suspicion. People just want the truth, no matter who they are.”

Ever caught someone in the act? Like… having sex?

“Oh, plenty of times. Cars are a popular choice for cheaters—parking lots, forest areas, even right outside their own homes sometimes. They really don’t think things through. And let’s just say, some people don’t even bother with a car—they like the thrill of public places.”

How do you even get close enough in those situations?

“That’s where technology comes in. My cameras can get a clear, zoomed-in shot from up to 6 km away. So even if I’m nowhere near, I still see everything. Theoretically, if there were no buildings in the way, I could be in Ogrody and catch someone cheating all the way in Wilda. That’s how good our equipment is.”

How often do cheaters meet up with their side piece?

“It depends on the situation, but on average? Around 2-3 times a week. Enough to keep the affair alive, but not so much that they raise suspicions.”

Spy Gear & The Dark Side of the Job

Can you track someone through their phone?

“Legally? No. Technically? Let’s just say if you’re careless with your online activity, I don’t even need to track your phone—I already know where you are.”

Do you use drones?

“Absolutely. Drones make my job way easier. I can get aerial footage, track movements, even capture evidence without ever being spotted.”

What’s the worst case you’ve ever worked on?

“When kids are involved. Without a doubt. Catching predators, exposing abusive situations—those are the cases that stick with you. And sometimes, I take those cases for free because putting those people away is personal to me.”

Are the laws in Poland strict enough on those criminals?

“Not even close. If it were up to me, they’d never see the outside of a prison cell again.”

Do you carry a gun?

“Of course. Only for self-defense, though. You never know who you’re dealing with in this line of work.”

Is it easy to get a gun license in Poland?

“It’s a lot easier than it used to be. As long as you don’t have a criminal record, nearly anyone can get one now.”

What other cases do you take on?

“Missing persons cases, stalking investigations, business fraud… Stalking is actually on the rise, but the crazy part is that half of the people who think they’re being followed? They’re just paranoid. The mind plays tricks when you’re scared.”

Ever worked on a murder case?

“Yes. But that’s all I can say about that.”

Success rate?

“We always deliver. One way or another, we get the answers our clients need.”

Social Media

Is social media helpful for your work?

“It’s a goldmine. People don’t realize how much they expose online. Check-ins, tagged photos, status updates—it’s like leaving breadcrumbs for me to follow. I’ve solved entire cases just by piecing together what people post.”

Alright, last question—what’s the best way to know if you’re being followed?

Haha, nice try! But okay, here’s a tip: Drive around a roundabout a few times and see if the same car follows you. It might work once or twice, but if you’re really being followed, we just switch out cars and add more people. You’ll never shake us off forever!”

So, whether you’ve got a cheating spouse, a missing loved one, or just a gut feeling that someone’s watching you, Detective Norbert Trelka is the man to call. And yeah—his number actually ends in 007. You cannot make this stuff up.
