Among the best pierogi in Poznan. Szarlotta Restaurant’s Duck Pierogi

Nestled in the heart of Poznań’s city center, Szarlotta Restaurant graces Świętosławska Street, a quaint street off Stary Rynek, the historic market square, leading to the Poznań parish church. This charming locale is surrounded by historical monuments and other points of interest, creating an intimate ambiance that beckons visitors to pause and savor the moment. We also heard they serve some of the best pierogi in Poznan.

They actually offer a unique twist on traditional cuisine, featuring both European and Polish dishes that showcase a delightful array of local specialties. The diverse menu reflects a commitment to culinary excellence, providing a culinary journey that captivates the palate. Undoubtedly, the star of the show here is the Duck Pierogi, a dish we eagerly anticipated experiencing for ourselves.

Upon arrival, the Pierogi demonstrated exceptional craftsmanship, boasting a soft and supple texture that cradled a generous filling of shredded slow-cooked duck. Each bite proved irresistible, and the Pierogi achieved the perfect al dente pasta consistency—a dense, chewy texture that elevated the overall dining experience. The flavor profile was a harmonious blend of sweetness and savory notes, enhanced by subtle hints of umami and a nuanced, slightly gamey and earthy undertone.

To complement this culinary delight, we opted for a glass of their house wine, reasonably priced at 12 PLN. The pairing of the rich, robust flavors of the duck Pierogi with the velvety notes of the house wine created a symphony of tastes that left a lasting impression. At 37 PLN, the Duck Pierogi offered excellent value for money, making it a standout choice among the pierogi offerings in Poznań. Without a doubt, we look forward to revisiting Szarlotta Restaurant, as it has secured its place as one of our top recommendations for exceptional pierogi experiences in the city. Definitely some of the best pierogi in Poznan. Highly recommended!
