Kidz in Piatkowo? Music to Our Ears!

Yo Poznan!

By now, you lovely readers probably know we’re slightly obsessed with finding things to do for families around Poznań. Every week, someone messages us:

“Hey Poznan Daily, any workshops in Piatkowo?”
“Anything educational but actually fun for kids?”
“Not everyone lives in the center, you know!”

We hear you. So, like true detectives of culture, we did what we do best — we hit the streets. This time, the streets of Piątkowo. And wouldn’t you know it… we struck gold.

Introducing: Cztery Dłonie (“Four Hands” for the non-Polish speakers in the back), a tiny but mighty space that’s quietly changing the way children learn music in this city.

What Makes Cztery Dłonie So Special?

Well, they’re not your average music school. Forget rigid scales, dusty sheet music, or terrifying piano exams. Cztery Dłonie is built entirely around MLT — that’s the Music Learning Theory by Professor Edwin E. Gordon.

“Only through MLT can we truly develop children’s musical competences and talents,” says founder Ola.
“It’s all about joy, creativity, improvisation, and connection.”

This isn’t just music class. It’s a full-body, mind-bending, giggle-inducing, melody-making experience for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and beyond. And honestly? It’s pretty inspiring to watch.

The Backstory

It all started back in 2010 with two lovebirds holding hands and dreaming of a space where kids and parents could grow together — not just musically, but emotionally and socially too. Ola was deep in her university studies and questioning the old-school ways of teaching music.

Her quest for something better led her straight to Gordon’s theory. And from that spark, Cztery Dłonie was born.

With her husband’s support (hence the “four hands”), she launched her first classes. Then came KrasnoNutki, a group for tiny tots. She teamed up with her friend to harmonize (literally). There were babies, twins, chaos, creativity, and eventually — a physical studio.

Cztery Dłonie officially planted roots in Piątkowo in 2019. And it’s been quietly thriving ever since, and so has Ola, who just had her fourth baby!

What Kind of Classes Are We Talking?

Here’s a little sampler of what they offer — and we’ll be digging into some of these in future articles too:

Ages 0–3

KrasnoNutki™ (aka adorable chaos)

Ages 7+

And Yes — It’s All Based on Science

MLT isn’t some random acronym. It’s a legit, research-based method that helps children think musically before they ever touch an instrument. It’s like learning a language — by hearing, feeling, and participating before reading and writing.

Want to Know More?

We’ll be doing a deeper dive into the classes soon (because we’re nerds like that). But if you can’t wait, just reach out to Ola herself. She speaks reasonable English, so you will definitely get along. 😄

So, to all our Piątkowo parents — we see you. And this one’s for you. Because great things don’t only happen in the center of town. Sometimes, the best beats come from the edges.

Stay tuned — we’ve got more gems coming soon. Until then…
Let the kids play. Let them learn. Let the music roll.
