Finally we get a Pendolino train from Poznan to Warsaw!

It’s finally happening—starting this December, you can hop on the Pendolino from Poznań to Warsaw or Szczecin and cut your travel time like never before, or is it really as good as it sounds? .

The Pendolino will take you from Szczecin Główny to Warsaw in a record time of just 4 hours and 17 minutes. From Poznań to the capital? 2 hours and 19 minutes. Really? Its about 10 minutes faster than the existing EIC service so it seems like its a lot of hot air and a way to charge us more to go to Warsaw and back!

Here’s the rundown: The train will stop in Stargard, Krzyż, and Poznań before speeding straight to Warsaw. A trip from Szczecin to Poznań clocks in at 1 hour and 47 minutes.

Now, about the train itself: the Pendolino isn’t just your average express train. This beauty is designed to hit speeds of up to 250 km/h, making it one of Europe’s fastest high-speed trains. Sleek, modern, and known for its smooth ride, the Pendolino is packed with comfort, offering spacious seating, WiFi, air conditioning, and a modern onboard bistro.

Here’s the catch

But here’s the catch—on this new route, the Pendolino will be capped at 160 km/h for now. The hope is that, in the future, upgrades to the tracks will allow it to hit that 250 km/h mark, which will slice travel times even more. Something to look forward to!

As for pricing, it hasn’t been confirmed yet, but early estimates suggest that a one-way ticket from Poznań to Warsaw will be around PLN 180. Is it worth it? We dont think its worth the extra money for saving 10 mins on the trip, especially as the EIC trains are super comfortable anyway! Thumbs down for this one!
