Yo, Poznań
If you’ve got a pack of beef tartare chillin’ in your fridge, you might wanna check that label right now before you are violently sick

According to the State Sanitary Inspection (GIS), lab tests just found Shiga toxin–producing E. coli (STEC) bacteria in a batch of beef tartare that’s been hitting Polish shelves. Yup — that’s the nasty one that can cause some serious food poisoning. 🤢
Here’s the contaminated batch:
Product name: Beef Tartare, 200 g
Batch number: 8525281202
Best before: 28/10/2025
Producer: SOKOŁÓW S.A., Branch in Tarnów, ul. Klikowska 101
The company Sokołów SA has already started pulling this batch off shelves, while inspectors keep a close eye on the recall process.

Bottom line:
If you’ve got this tartare, even if you have frozen it — don’t eat it, don’t risk it.
Toss it, or take it back to the store.
Stay safe out there, Poznań. Sometimes “raw and fresh” isn’t as sexy as it sounds.
