Hey Poznan!
Indian cuisine has officially found its moment in Poznań. With a wave of new Indian restaurants opening across the city, the quality now ranges from average to exceptional. At Poznan Daily, we’ll be reviewing Indian food regularly—and we’re starting with one of Jeżyce’s strongest players: Misahindusa, which is featured in our very first paper edition.

Owned by Patrycja and Sukhwinder, who comes from North India, the restaurant is located on Szamarzewskiego Street, surrounded by some of Poznań’s best dining spots. Interestingly, the owners only discovered the street’s reputation after moving in—proof that good food always finds the right place.

Misahidusa’s menu focuses on North Indian cuisine, a style known for its layered spices, tomato- and cream-based gravies, tandoor cooking, and comforting, slow-simmered dishes. Expect warmth rather than sharp heat, depth over gimmicks. We visited to sample a wide range of dishes—and the consistency across the menu stood out immediately. We were lucky to bump into Patrycja while we were there who gave us a few recommendations.

With an experienced Indian chef also in the kitchen, the flavours stay close to tradition, something Patrycja tells us Sukhwinder proudly confirms having grown up eating these dishes himself.

Starters were a highlight, especially the Mix Platter, featuring samosas, vegetable pakoras, chicken pakoras, and paneer pakoras—each properly spiced and perfectly fried. From the tandoor, the Hariyali Tikka impressed with its fresh herb marinade and juicy texture.
When it came to mains, two dishes defined the experience. The Methi, made with aromatic fenugreek leaves, delivered a deep, slightly bitter complexity rarely found on local menus. The Madras, on the other hand, was bold and fiery—spicy, intense, and expertly balanced.

For anyone serious about Indian food, Misahidusa deserves a visit. At the moment, it’s our top pick in the city. The flavors are bold, authentic, and clearly made by people who know exactly what they’re doing in the kitchen. From the spices to the preparation, everything feels genuine rather than watered down for the mainstream. If you’re looking for real Indian flavors in Poznań, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.
