We Went on the Hunt for 100% Plant-Based Street Food in Poznań

The Lowdown

After recently raving about Maitri on Garbary, we were hungry for something different. Something less Zen garden, more late-night comfort food. Less hummus-and-a-prayer, more “yo pass the vegan zapiekanka.”

So we hit the streets, and what did we find?

Bula z Musztardą — which translates to “A Roll with Mustard” — a fully plant-based comfort food joint located at Taczaka 22 in the Old Town. And yeah, they’re not playing around: burgers, hot dogs, zapiekankas, bowls, kebabs — all vegan. All street food. All soul.

Rumor had it that Bula z Musztardą serves the best plant-based comfort food in the city. Naturally, we had to check it out and pick our top three dishes. Spoiler alert: it slapped.

We Met the Owner (She Knows Her Stuff)

We asked the owner for her MVPs. She recommended:

The chorizo burger

The asparagus burger (had to happen, it’s spring)

And of course, their vegan kebab

Side note: you can customize your burger like crazy — regular bun, lettuce wrap, flatbread; fried or grilled chickpea patty, or a soy patty. Genius.

We settled on:

Asparagus burger

Vegan bowl with Korean-style tofu

Vegan doner kebab

Plus a sneaky side of fried pickles with truffle mayo to share

The Asparagus Burger

Ingredients: Grilled white and green asparagus / kotlet / muhammara / feta / dill / mint / sriracha mayo

This one was giving garden-party-meets-street-vendor. The muhammara and sriracha mayo combo had a spicy-nutty-sweet richness that hit hard, and the feta + mint added a cool, creamy kick.

Only critique? Maybe tone down the sauces just a bit — we kinda lost the asparagus in the flavor moshpit. Which is a shame, ‘cause that’s the star here. But overall? Way better than expected. Would order again (just with a little sauce whisper, not a sauce scream).

The Korean-Style Tofu Bowl

Ingredients: Rice / glazed tofu / cucumber / pickled young red cabbage / beets in miso / sesame / miso mayo
Price: 42 PLN

This bowl was vibin’ from the first bite. That Korean glaze on the tofu was chewy, sweet, and sticky in all the right ways. Add in miso-marinated beets, crunchy cucumber, and creamy sesame-miso mayo — and boom, you got flavor fusion heaven.

Good portion, good price, and packed with punch. Our second-fave dish, easy.

Oh — and there’s also a Shish Kebab Bowl we spotted. Looked fire. We’ll be back for that, no question.

Star of the Show: The Vegan Doner Kebab

Price: Only 30 PLN
Bonus tip: Add hummus dip for 3 PLN (we forgot — still crying)

Inside the flatbread wrap:

Chickpea patty + seitan kebab (that’s wheat-based protein, for the uninitiated — chewy, meaty, legit)

Red cabbage, tomato, crispy pickles, onion, and Chinese cabbage (aka Napa cabbage — think crunchy, light, and fresh)

We went with the hot sauce and yeah… it was fire but in a good way.

Meat lovers, listen up: the texture, the flavor, the vibe — it’s scary close to a classic kebab. You’ll forget it’s plant-based until you’re halfway through and thinking, “Damn… this might be better than the real thing.”

We’ll be back. Probably in the next few days. Maybe even tomorrow.

The Drinks: Homemade Rhubarb Lemonade & Lemon Iced Tea

Both fresh, punchy, and perfect alongside the rich dishes. If you’re skipping alcohol, these are top-tier no-booze pairings.

Wrapping Up

Bula z Musztardą nails the street food game — and they do it with zero animal products, zero preachiness, and full-on flavor.

The crew was super chill, the energy good, and when the sun’s out, we highly recommend grabbing a seat on Taczaka, which has had a sweet little facelift recently.

And yeah — say what up to Chef Eryk from us when you go.

Whether you’re vegan, veg-curious, or just into good grub that won’t leave you in a meat coma, Bula z Musztardą 100% deserves a visit.
