Discovering a Hidden Gem in Jezyce: Poznaj Wino at Zagroda Bamberska

If you’re strolling through Jeżyce, near the train tracks on Kościelna Street as you head towards Sołacz, you might stumble upon a charming complex known as Bamberski Dwór. This historical site is now home to a delightful trio: the Posto restaurant, a pastry shop Jagodowo Mi, and our new favorite wine spot, Poznaj Wino—a wine shop with a twist. In case you didn’t know Poznaj Wino means ‘Get to know wines’.

We had the pleasure of meeting Łukasz, the passionate owner of Poznaj Wino. This wine shop isn’t just about bottles on shelves; it features a small delicatessen stocked with items that perfectly complement a good wine, plus an assortment of books and accessories and even a sword for ‘Sabrage’ which is a technique used to open a bottle of champagne. Its name comes from the French word sabré, which means saber, which was used for uncorking on ceremonial occasions. There’s even a cozy tasting chamber for wine workshops with delicious tapas.

Łukasz’s journey into the world of wine began in an unconventional way—through hitchhiking around Portugal. A visit to one of the famous cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia, where Port wine is aged, ignited his passion. Every summer thereafter, he explored wine regions across Europe. Łukasz also joined Casa De Vinos wine shop, located next door to what would become one of Poland’s best restaurants—Muga, which earned Poznań’s first Michelin Star in 2023. He worked there as a sommelier until 2020.

In 2022, Łukasz rediscovered the hidden treasure that is Bamberski Dwór after the pandemic, a complex of historical buildings that once housed an old Bamberg homestead. He decided to open Poznaj Wino in the old hen house at Kościelna 43.

Once there you will find a broad selection of wines from classic destinations like Tuscany, Rioja, and Champagne, along with low-intervention wines such as amber wine, pet-nat, and biodynamic varieties. Top Polish wineries are also represented, and there’s even a selection of 0% wines.

Better still, from April to October, whenever the weather is friendly, Łukasz invites you to enjoy the outdoor wine bar in the courtyard. It’s the perfect spot to relax with friends, share a bottle of your favorite wine, and savor a cheese plate or gazpacho—far from the hustle and bustle.

We highly recommend you visit Łukasz at Poznaj Wino. His knowledge and enthusiasm will help you select a special wine that suits your taste. Stay updated on their activities, including live music evenings, wine tastings, and festivals, by following them on Facebook or Instagram, or by subscribing to their newsletter at [email protected].
