Bujany Konik: Poznan’s Premier Barber & Coffee Hub”

Becoming an alpha male in Poznan in 2023 demands three essential elements: Tattoos, a well-groomed beard, and an impeccable haircut. When it comes to tattoos, there are approximately 20 reputable studios we can confidently recommend. Barbershops, on the other hand, offer a myriad of choices, but standing out among them is the exceptional Bujany Konik Barber & Coffee Shop—it’s not your ordinary barbershop and definitely one of the best barber shops in Poznan

Bujany Konik Barber & Coffee Shop serves as a hub for individuals seeking diverse forms of leisure. Emerging after the second national lockdown, it started as a barber shop in the basement of a historic tenement house with a rich century-old history. The vision was to create an inclusive space for anyone in need of a classic haircut and a bit of relaxation. Securing a two-story spot with an authentic vintage atmosphere in early 2020, they dedicated two years to meticulous renovations (thanks to COVID), culminating in a space ready to transport customers back in time.

The majority of their equipment and decor are original artifacts sourced from flea markets across Europe, preserving an authentic vintage vibe. Last fall, they introduced the second part of Bujany Konik – Pijany Konik, the ‘coffee shop’ component of their establishment. It’s more than just a place for coffee and desserts; it’s a venue for board games, drinks, live concerts, and even poetry readings, jam sessions, vintage fashion meet-ups, and creative manual work workshops.

Upstairs, patrons can enjoy hot and cold beverages, desserts, snacks, cocktails, beer, and wine. For those who don’t mind a bit of indulgence, there’s even a smoking lounge. Downstairs, the skilled team cuts and styles hair, trims beards, and offers old-school hot towel razor shaves. Their specialization lies in creating unique looks, with hairstyles that resonate with the chic elegance of the 30s-50s but not limited to any particular era.

The distinctive name, Bujany Konik, went through a meticulous brainstorming process. The aim was to highlight the vintage character of the place and its focus on providing a leisurely experience. Their inspiration came from a World War Two rocking horse for children (Polish: BUJANY KONIK) found at a flea market, which later became their mascot, symbolizing the true vintage atmosphere and the lively vibe of the shop.

The term “konik” in Polish also conveys something one loves and excels at, making it a perfect fit for the establishment. The drink bar upstairs, deserving its unique identity, transformed “Bujany” into “Pijany,” meaning “drunk” in Polish.

Bujany Konik Barber & Coffee Shop undeniably stands as one of the premier barbershops in Poznan, presenting a compelling case to be among the best in Poland. We highly recommend paying them a visit, keeping an eye on their events via their Facebook page, and indulging in a cut or wet shave. It’s more than just a barbershop—it’s an immersive experience in timeless style and vibrant leisure. Highly recommended!
