Best pizza in Poznan! PART I

With options for pizzas running into the hundreds in Poznań, we decided to look for the best pizza in Poznan. It wasn’t easy but visiting each place personally and also talking to random strangers, these names kept popping up! We did some research, spoke to the owners, and came up with this initial list. Definitely some of the best pizza in Poznan!

Mokra Włoska

Ul. Piotra Wawrzyniaka 20, Jeżyce

A new concept from the creators of Miejscówka and Iluzja bar: Martyna Fąferek and Jarek Filipiak. Opened in December of 2021, it’s an Instagram-style cocktail bar and pizzeria with a strong pop-art influence and funky music. You can try one of 40 different Amaro or Aperitivo liquors, mixed with a great Neapolitan pizza.

The food menu is a really dope creation of one of the most influential chefs in Poznań–Orson Hejnowicz, the head chef of Wolność restaurant. The whole package comes with a great crew, professional but very easy-going. The main theme of the pizza menu for the summer months is Cinematography. You will find unusual and astonishing dishes, which connect world-famous movies with a Neapolitan pizza and jaw-dropping ideas of the crew.

With so many cool options it was difficult to choose our favorites but you need to try the Devil’s Advocate which is a vegetarian pizza with a mix of San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, mozzarella fior di latte, smoked Scamorza, local amber cheese, chili crisps, and chives. Brilliant!

The Pulp Fiction a.k.a. Big Kahuna Bur… Pizza is the must-have dish for every Tarantino fan. A mix of San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, mozzarella fior di latte, fried plum tomatoes, togarashi-infused pineapple, chiffonade lettuce, cheddar, crispy chicken, and burger sauce. Crazy!

Parasite a.k.a. pizza ramen is one of the most mind-blowing dishes on the menu. The pizza is flavored like a classic Tonkotsu Ramen. A mix of mozzarella fior di latte, oshinko, marinated soft-boiled egg, smoked tofu, vermicelli noodles, black sezam, and coriander. Incredible!

Star Wars pizza is a thing that even Darth Vader would take his breathing mask off to eat. The pizza contains mozzarella fior di latte, yellow curry paste, eggplant, okra, mango sauce, Thai basil, and the whole composition is topped with fresh Burrata cheese. Delicious! Definitely one of the 5 best pizza places in Poznań!

Pizzaioli

Wożna 5, Old Town

Pizzaioli is located right in the middle of the Old Town, 100 meters from the main square. Their dough is made of Le5Stagioni “00” flour and Italian “BIGA” sourdough. It allows them to obtain an excellent taste and the pizza, due to the process of dough resting and fermentation, is light and crunchy. The recipe was shared with the owners during training in Italy by a respected pizzeria and restaurant. Lucky for us!

Their special oven comes from Modena, Italy, and lights a real fire that reaches over 400 degrees to get that pizza just perfect. And for gluten-free pizzas, they even bake them in a separate oven! So rest assured gluten sufferers, you are in good hands! They even have a Vespa motorbike in the window just in case you fancy taking an Instagram photo and for nightbirds, on weekends the bar stays open until midnight!

Pizzaioli focuses mainly on the true classics so we recommend you try the basic Pomodoro I Aglio. they say that to know if a pizza is really good then go back to basics and this definitely delivers!

Second up you have to try the Mortadela e Pistacchi: a white pizza with Italian mortadella, roasted salted pistachios, and basil! Delicious!

Something really original is their Pizza pesto e pomodori with basil pesto, mozzarella fior di latte, cherry tomatoes, basil + olive oil. The pizza owes its unique taste to the wonderful pesto they make themselves! Absolutely delicious and is a must-try for serious foodies! Definitely one of the 5 best pizza places in Poznań!

Winogratka

ulica Przełajowa 14, Winogrady

One of our favorite places in Poznań right now. It’s a small place that hides a big secret though! The pizza is baked in a stone oven and the dough matures for seventy-two hours. During this time complex structures are formed inside the dough and their richness obtains a unique texture. Light, crunchy, and soft at the same time. Beautiful!

The menu is short but substantial, the pies reign with crispy edges, and It is obvious that there are many places with pizza in Poznan, but here we are dealing with a “gastro revitalization” of Winogrady. For this Winogratka has a huge plus with us! We love the small hut-like building with a simple outdoor eating area surrounded by parks and more importantly (for those who do not feel like driving) a tram stop!

When there we recommend you try the Mort Adela. High quality and sizeable finely ground sausage, enriched with pork fat balls and pistachios. The sausage is placed on a soft bed of fluffy ricotta cheese, topped with green pesto and sprinkled with Italian pistachios. Delicious!

A true classic of the genre in an unusual combination of flavors is the Marinara Special. A fantastic combination of Italian burrata, aromatic lemon zest, and fresh basil. #foodporn in its pure form! Definitely one of the 5 best pizza places in Poznań!

przyjemność

ul. Górna Wilda 82/84

San Marzano tomatoes (probably the best tomatoes in the world), fresh mozzarella cheese, and long-maturing Italian flour dough – this is the basic recipe for the best pizza that is served for pleasure in Poznań’s Wilda district.

However, that’s not all, because the real madness in the pizza bar “Pleasure” begins with the selection of toppings – original sauce (for example with the addition of mango or chipotle) or a whole vacation of vegetables, meats and cheeses (also vegan). The owners of the place were inspired by California, especially its multiculturalism

That is why the pizza served here, although based on Italian tradition, also has many other cuisines, such as Mexican or Japanese. The restaurant also specializes in refreshing body and spirit spritzers. When there we recommend the crazy UNCLE PHILLY STRAIGHT FROM AMERICA. If a pulled pork pizza, cheese sauce, and baby potatoes sound like a good plan to you, then pay them a visit before the menu changes!
