Located in the picturesque Solacz neighborhood, just a few tram stops from Poznań’s bustling city center, Fishka transports you to a serene oasis that feels worlds away. With its dual-part garden, the restaurant offers a delightful terrace overlooking a main garden chillout zone, perfect for a relaxing meal surrounded by nature. More importantly, we found a decent Fish and Chips in Poznan
Fishka, true to its name, is all about fish. On our visit, we couldn’t resist trying their famed Fish & Chips, a classic dish with a storied history. Fish & Chips originated in England in the 19th century, becoming a beloved staple of British cuisine. The dish traditionally features battered and fried fish served with thick-cut fries, a pairing that has delighted palates for generations.
At Fishka, their Fish & Chips is as good as it gets in Poland and the best we have tried so far. The cod is coated in a perfectly crunchy crust, delivering a satisfying crunch with every bite. The fish is tender and flaky, melding seamlessly with the crisp exterior. Accompanied by thick fries, a fresh salad, and a tangy tartar sauce, the dish is a well-rounded culinary experience. For an authentic touch, don’t forget to ask for some vinegar on the side—just like the English do.
To complement your meal, we highly recommend a chilled Belgian Westmalle Trappist Tripel beer, boasting a robust 9.5% alcohol content. Its rich, fruity flavors and smooth finish perfectly enhance the fish and chips experience.
