The Lowdown
Poznań Daily has been scouting for the next heavyweight in Jeżyce’s food scene, and boom—we found it. We recently wrote about Ludowa Bistro that just set up shop at Słowackiego 27, and trust us, this place ain’t playing. Sitting right in the middle of Jeżyce’s hottest food spots, they knew they had to bring something fresh…we went and tried the menu and they delivered.

Polish Food, But Make It Sexy
Ludowa Bistro isn’t just another Polish eatery. It’s a neo-bistro—which basically means it takes classic Polish flavors and flips them into something lighter, fresher, and perfect with a glass of wine or craft beer. It’s run by Magda & Rafael, the same crew behind Twoja Wina, so you know the vibes are real. When their friend Marta closed her restaurant Sezon in this exact spot, they took over and made it their own—keeping the seasonal, fresh, and simple approach but adding their own twist.

So How Was the Feast?
The sun was out, so we made it our first outdoor dining experience of 2025. First up—wine. We went for the Georgian white Tamada Tsinandali 2020 because we wanted to test the entry-level. And? Solid choice. Light, crisp, a little honey on the finish, and perfect for a chill afternoon.

For starters, we kicked off with
Smoked Mackerel Paste (17 PLN)
Fresh ricotta, tomatoes, and smoked mackerel on crispy bread. A banger with the wine.

Old Gold Cheese (18 PLN)
A Polish take on Parmesan, aged 12 months, with a nutty, slightly funky vibe. Absolute winner.

Then came the main event
Classic Pork Chop (66 PLN)
Pork loin, fried in lard, wrapped in a golden breadcrumb & egg crust, served with dill-infused potato purée, grilled champignon salad with mayo, green beans & chives. Crispy, juicy, rich—100% worth it.

Haricot Beans (39 PLN)
Creamy but with a crunch, sautéed in a white wine butter sauce with thyme, onion, fennel, and a hit of cream. Comes with sourdough bread to soak it all up. If you’re feeling adventurous, get this.

Final Verdict?
If we have one critique? Some dishes could use a little more seasoning. But honestly? The raw flavors shine through, and that’s kinda the point.

Ludowa Bistro is the ultimate date spot. It’s chill but classy, trendy but not trying too hard. The food is top quality but won’t rob your wallet. It’s Polish comfort food made romantic. If you wanna impress someone, bring them here.
