Ludowa Bistro – The New Polish Neo-Bistro in Jeżyce You Gotta Try

The Hunt

Poznań Daily has been hunting for the next big thing in Jeżyce’s stacked food scene, and guess what? We found it. Ludowa Bistro (which translates to The People’s Bistro) has just hit the block at Słowackiego 27, and trust us—this spot ain’t here to play. Sitting right in the middle of Jeżyce’s best restaurants, they knew they had to bring something fresh to the table… and they did.

A Passion Project with Roots

Ludowa Bistro isn’t just some random new joint—it’s got history, heart, and a serious passion for Polish cuisine. It’s the sister restaurant to Twoja Wina on Jackowskiego, run by food-and-wine-loving duo Magda & Rafael. When their friend Marta decided to close her restaurant Sezon at this very location, they saw the perfect opportunity: keep the spirit of seasonal, fresh, and simple cooking alive, but do it their way.

Their mission? Showcase Polish cuisine in a whole new light. Not as heavy, old-school comfort food, but as something you’d wanna grab with friends over a glass of natural wine, cider, or craft beer. Think Polish classics, but refined, playful, and perfect for an evening out.

What’s on the Menu?

Ludowa Bistro calls itself a bistro, but really? It’s a neo-bistro. Light, seasonal, and effortlessly elegant. Here’s a taste of what they’re serving up:

🔥 Polish-style tapas – Local cow, goat, and sheep cheeses from small producers, homemade pork lard with greaves, and a smoked mackerel paste.

🥟 Pierogi game strong – Three varieties:

Cheese & potatoes

Goose meat

Blood sausage

Beef tartare – With bone marrow for that deep, rich flavor.

Herring with apples, cream & potatoes (coming soon!)

Seasonal veggies – Currently brussels sprouts, but they’re always switching it up.

Braised pork shank – Served with creamed peas and sauerkraut.

The Wine

And of course, the wine selection is top-tier—carefully curated to match the bistro’s bold yet refined Polish flavors. Expect an exciting mix of bottles from Poland, Czechia, Slovenia, Hungary, Germany, and Georgia, celebrating the best of Central and Eastern European winemaking. But don’t worry, they’ve also got some French gems in the mix for the purists.
