Poznań may not have a mafia anymore… but Luboń apparently has its own fruit-based crime story.
Move over Hollywood — Luboń has a new drama series, and the main characters are strawberries.
Forget gangs, secret meetings, and black suits. The latest “mafia” in town is allegedly operating with… fruit stands, cameras, and the smell of rotten cheese.
A strawberry seller from Luboń has offered a 5,000 PLN reward for information leading to the identification of a person who has repeatedly vandalised their stand by spraying it with a foul-smelling substance.
And we’re not talking about a little prank.

The substance reportedly smells like a combination of vomit, rancid butter, and rotten cheese — basically nature’s worst perfume.
According to the owners, this has been happening for years, with someone allegedly trying to push them out of the market by damaging their stands and ruining their reputation.
The estimated losses?
Around 40,000 PLN.

That’s a lot of strawberries. 🍓
The owners believe this isn’t random vandalism but a case of unfair competition — and police seem to agree that’s one possible angle being investigated.
Junior Inspector Andrzej Borowiak from Greater Poland police confirmed that officers received a report and are reviewing surveillance footage.
Unofficially, some officers have even referred to the situation as the “strawberry mafia.”
Which sounds hilarious… until you remember someone is actually losing thousands of złoty.
The internet, meanwhile, has taken the side of the strawberry sellers, with customers offering support and promising to visit the stand.
Because nothing says “fight back” like buying extra strawberries. 🍓💪
For now, the investigation continues.
The question remains:
Who is behind the Luboń Strawberry Mafia?
And more importantly…
Are strawberries officially the most dangerous fruit in Greater Poland?
