Every now and then, Poznań gets a new opening that actually feels different. Poznaje, hidden inside Stary Browar, is one of those places — and already a serious early bet for best spot of 2026. From the outside, it looks like “just” a bakery. Step inside, climb the discreet stairs, and suddenly you’re in a calm, intimate dining room with a proper speakeasy vibe. It’s a great reveal.

The Founder

The brain behind it is Bartek Rychcik, a name well known to anyone who takes bread seriously. He’s spent most of his adult life in bakeries, built the respected artisanal BAKERY concept, and runs the ENATA BREAD brand. This place feels personal—like a long-time dream finally done right. Bread is baked fresh every day, and the whole concept lands somewhere between relaxed and refined. Think casual fine dining, but without the stiffness.

The Man In The Kitchen

In the kitchen is Chef Jarosław Kin, a heavy hitter with 20 years of experience and a shelf full of awards. The menu is tight, confident, and built around quality ingredients. Expect toasted croissants, poached eggs, excellent homemade bread, and coffee that smells like it came straight from a boutique roastery. Don’t skip the caramelized challah fried in butter—it’s an instant favorite.

The space itself keeps pieces of the old brewery that once lived here, giving it character without trying too hard. Jarosław’s signature dish is milk-fed veal (hip cut), cooked with precision and restraint. We also tried the beef tartare, paired with a few clever mousses we won’t give away—you’ll have to experience that yourself. It’s outstanding.

If you’re just passing through Stary Browar, the bakery alone is worth the stop: fresh sourdough, a cornetto with white poppy seeds, and a cinnamon roll that might become legendary next year. Three words sum up Poznaje: quality, honesty, passion. Poznań’s bar was already high—this place raises it.
