Pizza with a Pork Chop: Bar u Grochowej’s Wild Twist on Polish Classics

If you’re cruising through Winogrady and craving something to eat, try something different and check out Bar u Grochowej next to the Słowiańska tram stop. This spot on Piątkowska 65a, which got famous after being visited by Polish Youtuber KSIĄŻULO with 1.5 million subscribers, is a hidden urban oasis that blends tradition with a twist.

We stopped by for a quick chat with the owner, who happens to have the surname ‘Grochowa’—hence the name. The focus here is Polish food with exaggerated flavors that make each dish stand out. The highlight? Kotlet Schabowy (pork chops) prepared in various inventive ways.

The wildest has to be the pizza topped with kotlet schabowy for 49 PLN. Yes, you read that right—a pizza with a pork chop topping! It might sound like a gimmick, but we’re definitely coming back to try it and give you our full review.

Open seven days a week, there’s no excuse not to swing by and see what all the fuss is about. It’s probably the most interesting old-school Polish restaurant we’ve stumbled upon in ages.

Stay tuned for our in-depth review, but in the meantime, go check it out for yourselves and let us know what you think in the comments below! If your early then pop in for a breakfast Mon to Fri 10-13!
