NEW SPOT IN TOWN: WARTKA ON TACZAKA

The Lowdown

Poznan, get ready to welcome a little slice of Italy in your neighborhood. Nestled on Taczaka 4a downtown, Wartka isn’t just any coffee spot—it’s the latest vibe check in town. Here, specialty coffee meets Italian baked dreams, and it’s all done in a space that feels as warm as your grandma’s kitchen. Three friends, bound by their love for gluten-free bakery experiments, took their passion for Italian treats and brewed it into something Poznan hasn’t seen before.

Meet the Maritozzi

Now, let’s talk about maritozzi. These fluffy buns of joy are like the Italian cousin of a doughnut but way cooler. Imagine a soft, slightly sweet bun, sliced down the middle, and stuffed with a cloud of whipped cream. Wartka’s brought them to Poznan in both classic and custom flavors—traditional with cream, a vegan whipped dream, and savory spins packed with feta, sun-dried tomatoes, olives, and even pumpkin.

The Coffee Line-Up

You can bet the coffee game here is strong. Their star this season is the Guatemala Todosantarita—a smooth espresso with a surprising depth. And for all the pour-over fans, they’re keeping it real with drip. Wartka also showcases Polish roasters, so you’re tasting the best beans from home with every sip.

The Review

Feta Cheese & Olives Maritozzi (12 PLN)

This one hit us like a flavor bomb. The creamy feta and briny olives in that soft, pillowy maritozzo were everything we didn’t know we needed. Savory, just a hint of richness, with a smooth bite that leaves you wondering if you’re still in Poznan or have somehow landed in a piazza in Rome.

Vegan Whipped Cream & Orange Jam Maritozzi (17 PLN)

This one? Chef’s kiss. The vegan cream is lush and rich, and that tangy orange jam just takes it to another level. A little sweet, a little tart, and a whole lot of magic.

The Coffee

We paired these with their Leche y Leche—a Spanish-style coffee made with oat milk and served in a glass, just like they do in Spain. The coffee is mellow, creamy, and balances perfectly with the maritozzi. And the Hibisko with Oak Milk? Think floral notes that feel like a cozy hug, refreshing yet smooth. Let’s talk also about that green matcha. We couldn’t resist, and honestly, glad we didn’t. It’s got that earthy vibe—like real-deal matcha, not the sugary stuff. Smooth, a little sweet, but with that signature matcha kick. It’s rich, but not heavy, and gives off this low-key, vibey energy that’s exactly what matcha should be about.

The Unexpected Showstopper

As amazing as the maritozzi were, Wartka’s Pistachio Tiramisu stole the show. Forget any tiramisu you’ve had before; this one is on another level. The pistachio flavor is subtle yet rich, complementing the creamy layers without overpowering them. The texture? Soft, dreamy, and velvety smooth. It’s hands-down the tiramisu in town. No matter where you are in Poznan, you’re going to want to come here just to get a taste.

The Verdict

So there you have it—Wartka on Taczaka is officially Poznan’s new coffee gem. Drop by, bring some friends, and make up your own mind. But trust us, that tiramisu is going to leave you in awe.
