Meet “The Gourmet Bandit” – Poznań’s Dumbest Foodie Thief!

The Lowdown

Well, well, well… Poznań finally caught its very own “Gourmet Bandit”, a 22-year-old wannabe criminal mastermind who thought the city’s bars and restaurants were his personal ATMs. This culinary crook made a career out of breaking into gastropubs and eateries, swiping cash and electronics like he was shopping for Black Friday deals—except everything was free (for him, at least).

For weeks, this genius went on a restaurant-robbing spree, smashing windows, forcing doors, and sneaking through openings like some kind of Michelin-starred ninja. Seven places in total fell victim to his fine-dining crime wave before the cops finally served him his just desserts.

His downfall? Attempting one break-in too many. On the night of February 7-8, he decided to hit up yet another restaurant in Bolesław Śmiały. But surprise, surprise—Poznań police were already on to his gourmet-crime MO and nabbed him before he could add another spot to his menu of misdeeds.

The Damage?

Nearly 22,000 PLN in stolen goods. The punishment? He’s looking at up to 10 years in prison for his little gastronomic adventure. But come on—10 years? For swiping some restaurant cash and a few gadgets? What do you think? Should the Gourmet Bandit get the full sentence, or is that a bit too spicy for the crime?

Either way, one thing’s for sure—his fine dining days are over. Hope he likes prison food!
