Inside the Game: Our Interview with the Three Amigos Bringing Golf to Poznań’s Streets

The Lowdown

Poznań Daily hit up the green (well, a bit outside the city) to meet Daniel, Łukasz, and Bartek, the three friends behind Poznań Golf, who are on a mission to make golf as easygoing here as it is in the UK.

Imagine golf as a chill, affordable pastime like going bowling or catching a movie—exactly the vibe these guys are creating. Located a short drive out of Poznań, Poznań Golf brings an escape with big plans to take over the city center soon. We were amped to get the real lowdown from these three.

Q: Daniel, what’s your main gig at Poznań Golf?
Daniel: I’m a co-owner and the head pro trainer here. So yeah, you’ll find me on the grounds most days.

Q: How long have you been swinging clubs?
Daniel: I’ve been in the PGA Poland for 15 years, fully certified as a trainer for the last 5.

The Trick Shot

Q: Saw you on TikTok doing those trick shots. Pretty cool!
Daniel: Haha, glad you think so. Yeah, it actually helps improve control and is a fun way to vibe with non-golfers too.

Q: Be real with us—how many takes to nail that shot?
Daniel: Haha, that one was tricky! Took about 5-6 tries to get it right in, but most were close.

Q: So, your first season—how’d it go? Any surprises?
Daniel: Man, the mix of people was wild. We had everyone from taxi drivers to a guy who rocked up in a helicopter!

Q: Wait, what? Anything else unexpected?
Daniel: Oh, for sure—birds straight-up stole 4,000 golf balls from the range! They must have thought they were eggs or something.

Q: And how are you handling the bird problem?
Daniel: We switched the white balls to red ones. Fingers crossed they’re less appealing.

The Newbie

Q: For a total newbie, how long to get decent?
Daniel: I’d say one lesson every two weeks with practice in between. Stick to that for a month or two, and you’ll be ready to hit a real course.

Q: So, what’s this “green card” everyone talks about?
Daniel: It’s a 10-hour course you need to play on most courses in Poland. I do it for 1,600 PLN solo or 2,000 PLN if you bring a buddy.

Q: A two-for-one deal?
Daniel: Haha, close enough!

Q: And how long to get that green card?
Daniel: Ideally, a month, but if you’re in a rush, we can do it in a weekend.

The Manekin

Q: Whats the manakin for?

Daniel: Hahaha. We use it for target practice. Its great fun!

The GOAT

Q: Okay, for reference—how many strokes behind Tiger Woods would you be?
Daniel: Back in his prime? Maybe 10 shots.

Q: Is Tiger your GOAT?
Daniel: Tough call. For me, it’s between Ballesteros, Rory McIlroy, and Tiger.

Q: Why do guys seem better at golf than women?
Daniel: Honestly, it’s just about power. Technically, women are just as good.

Q: Ever get a hole-in-one?
Daniel: Yeah, a few! The longest was around 150 meters.

Q: And Trump? Good golfer or big talker?
Daniel: Politics aside, he’s legit. Definitely better than Biden, haha.

Q: Any tips for newbies?
Daniel: Stick to the basics—rotate your chest, and keep your eye on the ball.

The Future

Q: So, what’s next for Poznań Golf?
Daniel: We’re back here in Spring 2025 but with an eye also on a city-center spot in the near future. Stay tuned.

The Simulator

Q: Closed for winter then?
Daniel: Yeah, until March or April, but I’m teaching on a golf simulator in Puszczykowo at the Motor Museum. Perfect off-season practice.

Q: Green card through the simulator too?
Daniel: Absolutely! Hit me up at 506 685 521, and we’ll make it happen.
