Huge Corruption Scandal Rocks Poznań Town Hall! Top Officials and Ex-Cop arrested.

The Lowdown

Poznań is buzzing, and not in a good way—corruption has slithered its way into the highest ranks of the city’s leadership. On Wednesday, January 15, CBA agents (Central Anti-Corruption Bureau) stormed the business department of the Poznań City Hall, bagging four suspects in a scandal that smells worse than the Warta on a bad day.

The allegations? Abuse of power, leaking classified info, and bribery on a level that could rival a Netflix drama.

Who’s Caught Up?

Among the arrested is Marek K., a former cop who apparently swapped his badge for backdoor dealings. His alleged hustle? Greasing the wheels for alcohol permits at Żabka stores. Poznań has dished out nearly 6,000 of these permits, and thanks to some shady “VIP treatment,” a few jumped the line like they owned the place.

Żabka’s press office played it cool, saying:
“We’re aware of the ongoing investigation but have no detailed knowledge. We’re cooperating fully with the authorities to get to the bottom of this.”

Also cuffed:

  • Paula T. and Hanna D., two current city officials.
  • Anna F., a retired manager with a sketchy history—she’s no stranger to bending the rules.

Anna F.’s rap sheet goes back to 2009 when she greenlit booze sales at a nightclub that didn’t even meet basic sanitary standards. The case got swept under the rug back then, but now? She’s back in the hot seat.

What’s the Damage?

This isn’t just about a few shady deals—it’s a gut punch to the trust Poznań residents have in their leaders. The city’s business department is looking more like a black market than a place of governance.

Stay tuned, Poznań. The fallout from this scandal might just shake the city to its core. Is this just the tip of the iceberg? Time will tell, but one thing’s for sure—this drama is far from over.
