BEZ CONCEPT — “NO ALCOHOL, NO COMPROMISE, NO RULES?”

A world without alcohol

Poznan Daily Spring Edition features BEZ CONCEPT in Jezyce on Dabrowskiego 62— now available across 100+ cafés, bars, restaurants and hotels in Poznań. If you missed your paper copy, the full interview is also available online.

We spoke with the founders of one of Poznań’s most forward-thinking lifestyle stores about what it really means to build a world without alcohol — and why “0%” is just the beginning.

“Bez” — as in no alcohol, or no rules? What are you actually cutting out here?

Right now our concept is mainly based on non-alcoholic drinks, so “Bez” refers first of all to alcohol-free beverages. But it goes further than that — wherever possible, we try to reduce sugar or remove it completely, and avoid artificial or harmful additives.

We also wanted the name to stay open-ended, not tied to one category. It gives us space to grow in the future — into other natural, healthy products like snacks or additional lifestyle items.

Let’s not pretend — does alcohol-free wine actually hit?

The problem is that people often compare things that were never meant to be the same.

Non-alcoholic drinks should be seen as a completely new category — not a replacement for alcohol. That mindset shifts everything.

When you look at it this way, you can absolutely find high-quality alcohol-free wines that deliver a great experience. Everything we stock is carefully selected and tested by us — only the best, most interesting options make it in.

And yes — pleasure doesn’t have to disappear just because alcohol does.

Who’s your real customer — sober, curious, or just trying to feel better?

All of the above.

We wanted to create a place where everyone fits in — regardless of lifestyle, age, or approach to alcohol.

Our goal is to break patterns, open conversations, and inspire change. Some people don’t drink at all, some are curious, and some are just figuring it out. There’s space for everyone.

Biggest misconception about 0% drinks?

That they should taste exactly like alcoholic drinks — or that “no alcohol” automatically means lower quality.

That’s simply not true.

Some products require de-alcoholisation, which can affect price, but many are created from scratch using high-quality natural ingredients, with complex flavour profiles and strong design identity.

They’re not “alternatives”. They’re a category of their own.

What made you stop and think: “this is something different”?

The biggest shift came with the rise of alcohol-free aperitifs.

These aren’t just substitutes — they’re entirely new flavour experiences. Complex, layered, and made for mixing.

That’s when we realised this isn’t a trend. It’s an evolving category.

Three bottles that would shut up any sceptic?

Copenhagen Sparkling Tea BLÅ — elegant, floral, citrus-driven, a serious alternative to sparkling wine
L’aperitivo IESSI — bitter orange, rhubarb, cherry, ginger and chili heat, made for cocktails
Zeronimo Grüner Veltliner — crisp, dry, citrus and green apple profile, clean and refreshing

Why Jeżyce?

Jeżyce felt natural. It’s full of energy, creativity, independent cafés and people who actually care about what they consume.

It’s a district with character — and our concept fits that perfectly.

Final thought — niche experiment or cultural shift?

We weren’t taught healthy habits properly for a long time — food, drink, mental health.

But that is changing.

Our Take

People are becoming more aware of what they consume and how it affects them. Alcohol-free culture is no longer a niche experiment — it’s part of a global shift in how people choose to live.

And this is just the beginning.
