The Lowdown
I love this city — I really do. But if I have to dodge one more pile of dog sh*t in the middle of the sidewalk, I might lose it.
It’s everywhere. You walk through the Old Town trying to enjoy your day and suddenly — boom — mystery turd, center stage, right where your foot was about to land. It’s 2025, and somehow people still think it’s OK to let their dogs do their business and just stroll away like it’s not their problem.

Newsflash: It is your problem. And now it’s stuck to someone’s shoe.
Even worse, some residents in the city center are dealing with dogs using the area right outside their front doors as their personal toilet. Imagine coming home after a long day and being greeted by a warm little “gift” from someone else’s poodle. Delicious.
The city is trying — I’ll give them that. Poznań has just launched a new campaign to remind dog owners of their basic responsibilities. They’re even giving out free doggy poop bag sets, complete with a bone-shaped holder that says “I do it, you clean up.” Perfect. Now all we need is for people to actually use them.
You can grab your free clean-up kits at the:
- Senior Initiatives Center
- Family Initiatives Center
- Poznań Benefits Center
- Tourist Information Centers

Honestly, it’s not that hard. If your dog poops, pick it up. That’s it. That’s the rule. And if you can’t be bothered, maybe rethink whether you’re ready for the whole “pet owner” thing. The rest of us would like to walk without tiptoeing through a minefield, thanks.
