Looking for that special place to get fit? Us too! The team at Poznan Daily was on the hunt for more than just a basic gym—something with community vibes, a spot where we could feel like part of a family. That’s when we stumbled upon Energology, tucked away in a loft-style building right across from the Unii Lubelskiej tram stop in Rataje. A quick ride from the city center, and boom—we found our new fitness home. We hit up Monika, the owner, to get the lowdown.
As we rolled up, the hidden spot behind these steel doors felt exclusive, like finding a fitness speakeasy. People were just finishing their classes, and we instantly picked up on the friendly, tight-knit vibe. It’s a little fitness family, just what we were looking for.
Monika shared her story with us, starting back in 2016 when her husband jokingly told her she was “getting a little plump around the edges” and nudged her to get a gym membership. Little did he know, that joke would spark her fitness journey. After getting hooked on classes, she decided to dive deeper, enrolling in a Body Balance Les Mills course and becoming an instructor. Fast forward a few years, she opened her own spot in her Rataje neighborhood, doing most of the decorating herself with the help of friends, with the aim of creating a cozy space for people who prefer a smaller, more personal setting.
The result? Energology—a fitness studio that feels more like a community than just a gym. While the majority of her clients are women, with a few guys sprinkled in, the girl-power vibe is undeniable. You can feel the empowerment in the air!
Now, about the classes. The most popular? Aeroboxing! It’s a high-energy combo of boxing moves and intense cardio. Imagine throwing punches, kicks, and jumps—pure energy, and a killer way to burn calories. Not only does it improve fitness, but it helps with self-defense and coordination, too. Plus, the prices make it even sweeter. If you grab a package of 8 classes, it’s just 240 PLN (so 30 PLN a class!). Or you can go for the monthly pass at 309 PLN and attend as many classes as you want. Honestly, that’s some seriously good value.
If you’re more into personal training, Monika’s got you covered there too—whether it’s one-on-one or with a mini-group of 4-6 people. And if you’re wondering how long it takes to see results, Monika promises that with regular workouts, three months will have you feeling like a whole new person.
She invited us to try a personal workout session, but since we had just demolished a massive lunch, we politely declined—this time. But don’t worry, we’re definitely heading back soon to see how hard Monika can push us! We’ll keep you posted on how it goes.
