The Pretzel Kings of Poznań and Their Story

The Lowdown

Yo, if you haven’t heard of Luna Covrigaria, where have you been? This place is straight-up becoming a pretzel legend in Poznań. Where else can you score something this tasty for under 10 PLN? Nowhere, that’s where! Paula and Andrei, the masterminds behind this spot, have hit the jackpot with their killer pretzels, and here’s the deal: Paula’s from Poland, and Andrei’s from Romania, which explains why they’ve got those dope Romanian Luna-shaped pretzels on the menu. Yep, Luna means moon, and these beauties are shaped just like it.

the beginning

Their story is wild—these two met, bonded over their love for travel, and after hitting up countless countries, they realized they seriously missed fresh Romanian pretzels. Boom, the idea was born. They set up their first spot in Gorzów Wielkopolski, Paula’s hometown. It was supposed to be Warsaw, but they’re glad they kept it lowkey at first and got the fam’s help while learning the business ropes.

Gorzow Wielkopolski – The early days

fast forward

Fast forward, and now they’ve got their spot locked down in Poznań, right on Wrocławska street—everyone who rides the tram knows the vibe. And just this September 2024, they secured their dream location on Półwiejska! That’s where the action is, with like 50,000 people walking by every day—so yeah, it’s a big deal.

their favorites

Now, we haven’t tasted everything just yet, but Paula and Andrei didn’t leave us hanging. Their top 3? The Pizza Pretzel loaded with salami, the Jalapeño and Ham Pretzel with melty mozzarella, and of course, the Pistachio Pretzel—absolute fire. And here’s the kicker—they’re always cooking up off-the-menu flavors too, so you never know what they’ll drop next.

next chapter

If you’ve got time to chill, don’t sleep on their tiny coffee shop next door to the Wrocławska spot. Grab a hot drink and vibe while watching the city move. Word on the street is, they’re about to level up the inside design also and some cool custom handmade cups for their bomb specialty coffee. Trust us, it’s gonna be lit! Here’s a sneak peak of one of their cups…

that’s a wrap

Oh, and shout out to the students—you guys get a 20% discount on all the sweet and salty vegan pretzels, including on that pistachio pretzel! So if you’re out of class and need a snack, Luna’s got your back. Honestly, I’m about to text my kid to grab me one on the way home. Just kidding… kinda. So, if you haven’t hit up Luna Covriga yet (seriously, what are you even doing?), swing by one of their two locations and show some love to Paula and Andrei. Say hi to them from us!
