We recently stumbled upon this little spot on Bukowska 31 in Jeżyce called Pierogi Family. After getting requests from our readers for pierogi joints in Poznań, we were excited to check out something fresh and where we haven’t been before. Stepping into Pierogi Family, we had the pleasure of chatting with Ksenia and Valerii, the couple behind this gem. They moved from Ukraine to Poland six years ago. After hustling hard, dreaming big, and planning for the future, they finally opened their pierogi haven a few years back.
Pierogi Family’s menu is on point! They’ve got dumplings of course with a variety of fillings. You’ll find both savory and sweet options, plus seasonal treats like strawberry, cherry, and berry dumplings.
There’s something truly special about having your food cooked and served by passionate owners the old-school way. Let’s see more of that we say! The pierogi are sold by weight, so we totally recommend grabbing a mix to get the full experience.
Mixing Polish and Ukrainian vibes, they also whip up homemade Ukrainian borscht and mini cheesecakes as well as pilmieni – these are smaller, meat-filled dumplings that are absolutely mouth-watering.
In fact, making these tiny meat-filled dumplings by hand with your parents during the cold and dark winter evenings is a classic pastime for many Ukrainians. And don’t miss out on their casseroles, a unique offering we haven’t seen before and can’t wait to try.
We’ll be back in a few days to give our rating and dive into their menu ourselves and we can’t wait. In the meantime, swing by Pierogi Family and let us know what you think in the comments!
