While strolling down Swiety Marcin street, we stumbled upon a unique shop specializing in cargo bikes. For those unfamiliar, cargo bikes are versatile bicycles designed to carry heavy loads, making them perfect for transporting goods, children, or even pets around the city.
Hazay, founded in 2020 by cycling enthusiasts Marcin Grausch, Marcin Ciesielski, and Kuba Garstkiewicz, embodies a passion for urban cycling. This trio has combined their extensive experience in designing solutions for the bicycle and automotive industries to create Hazay, a bike that has undergone years of testing and is now ready to hit the streets. Their passion is palpable, and it’s not uncommon to see them engaging with fellow bike enthusiasts, sharing stories and insights about their innovative creation.
From the outset, the founders wanted their bikes to reflect their love for quick and nimble urban movement. They believe that humans were not meant to stand in traffic jams but to move freely and enjoy simple pleasures like commuting to college or running errands. Children also love to be ferried around in a cargo bike. Strapped in of course!
As they explain, “Man was not created to stand in traffic jams, but to move freely without limitations and enjoy such simple things as getting to college or running a few errands in the city. We believe that Hazay is able to transform the previously sad chore of getting from point A to point B into an adventure that will make you feel better for the rest of the day. And by the way, our planet will surely thank you for sparing it more exhaust fumes!”
At the heart of Hazay is the 250W central motor, which allows you to tackle even the steepest hills with a fully loaded bike. With five assist modes to choose from, even a grandma can ride one! The battery can be detached from the bike and charged at home and can cover around 80km of bike time!
Whats more, the Hazay bike was the winner of the 30th edition of the Dobry Wzór design competition, the oldest design competition in Poland promoting the best-designed products and services available on the Polish market.
If you’re intrigued, you can arrange a test ride before making a purchase. Visit their shop at Swiety Marcin 51 for a chat or call them at 696 232 015 to ensure a demo bike is available. Hazay is a testament to the belief that urban mobility can be both practical and joyful.
