The statistics from Monday’s “sober morning” operation are alarming, or not? Out of 41,000 cars checked, 119 drivers were found to be under the influence of alcohol. This means that nearly 0.3% of drivers were putting themselves and others at risk by getting behind the wheel drunk.

While this might seem like a small percentage, the consequences of driving while intoxicated are severe. The law imposes up to 3 years of imprisonment, loss of driving privileges, car confiscation, and hefty fines. Even a small amount of alcohol can impair concentration and reflexes, making the roads more dangerous.
What do you think? Given that 41,000 drivers were checked, is this number of drunk drivers more or less than you would have expected? Share your thoughts!
